Friends- I’m that person that stumbles on the simplest $hit. I am trying to install Vleds back up brake light. Have to remove trailer connector to plug in adapter. I can’t get the damn plug off. What is the secret. Obviously I have to release a clip. I can’t figure out though.

save yourself some trouble and just squeeze the 2 metal clips there and remove the assembly out of the bumper, will be alot easier to disconnect the wiring after you remove it, mine was such a tight fit i couldnt get it from underneath

I was looking at those two clips thinking perhaps a better way. I’ll try when I get home.

this might help you as well, there is a clip on the top that needs to be pressed in/down

Post pics and thoughts when you get it installed. I've been considering one myself.

I have a 2018 so it's a little different but I just ended up cutting back the loom and tapping the wires behind the connector.

OK. So it's all done. A 20 minute install took me 3 hours. Which is typical. I am in awe of folks that can figure out how to release all the little clips required to work on vehicles. It's an art form that I will never become proficient at. If there is not a descriptive Youtube video, I just pull until stuff breaks ands velcro back into positon. :)

In reality the ONE clip is positioned up top where you can't really see it. It's the only one and no tools required. Press with finger and pull and it comes apart.

The light looks fine, I have to try it out during the day, and see what the brake lights are like at night. TY all.

I've learned not to say "20 minute install" it's like uttering a curse for me.
