I have a 2017 Tundra I've had it for about 5 years. I thought my hood paint or clear coat was fading but I realize now its a sticker or clear film protectant over the whole hood and its disintegrated so bad that I can't even peel it and its not coming off but in micro pieces.. I've tried chemicals like goof off, acetone and even tried heat.. Heat works somewhat but still leaves a sticky goo..

Any advice short of having the hood sanded down and re-painted..

    Thanks

just another reason to hate PPF.......both suggestions...the eraser wheel and/or heat+rapid tac should work......but the process will still be tedious. If you have a local detail shop......have them take a look at it and see what they quote you for the removal and subsequent paint correction.

Thanks all, I'm afraid I"ll burn the paint with the wheel, may try the rapid tac first see how that goes.. This is a pain..TY

Lomax cover, TRD PRO headlight conversion...so far anyway
Mine is cracking and seperating as well. I was quoted a minimum of $300 to start and they would need the truck at least 2 full days. I bought that same wheel but have not had a chance to mess with it due to the holiday season, and now our weather is crap; was told warm/hot weather would also help due to the ambient temps helping...which probaly also had a hand in the PPF cracking to begin with.
