    Hi,

I just bought JD, my boy, short for Jack Daniel’s, because his metallic bronze brown colour looks like a good rich American Whiskey, that JD, my Truck! A 2017 1794 edition, mint! He is only 1 of 3 in New Zealand. Always a conversation starter here because of both badges. Toyota V8? Tundra? Many only know the 70 series, LC300 and Hilux here. All Legend in their own right. But I don’t like Diesel therefore Tundra after FJ Cruiser. Looking to fit out with bed rack, etc. proving difficult here as many businesses don’t ship to NZ. At age 51 I finally bought my dream truck, 7 years old with 37,000 miles in mint condition.

Welcome! My wife and I got married in Queenstown last year, beautiful country you have! I was drooling over all the 70 series Landcruisers the whole time we were there.

Thanks all thus far for your warm welcome. I am hoping to build it into a minimalist tourer. I see what you American chaps get up to. You could buy a house for the money you spend Seriously though, I am hoping to travel a few continents if I ever get over or learn to cope with my PTSD. Otherwise it’s local for me and using my truck on all my recycling design and architecture projects. Or if there is a market out there to design, customise and build bespoke items from and Architects perspective for the 2nd Gen Tundra. Until I deal with my mental illness it’s me, JD and hopefully soon my new pup to get out there trying to be brave. Tonight I am quivering just thinking about it.. tomorrow maybe better. I have to believe that someday I will be able to meet some of you with my own truck. I must hope, like for the Tundra since 2006 seeing it after living in NZ for 5 years, raising a young family and wanting to go rural.

Great looking truck. The stance and height look sharp. I like the way it sits. Good luck!
