DIY Repair on a lazy dash cupholder

    The nylon hinge broke from its tray, disabling the spring mechanism.

    The collage below shows how I (easily) took the entire assembly apart for Windex cleaning.

    I scuffed every broken contact point and adjacent surfaces with sandpaper. I hit the broken part of the hinge with heat from a Butane torch to "open the pores" according to https://ncwoodworker.net/forums/index.php?threads/glue-for-nylon.71038/ . Used enough Starbond Thick CA glue to reaffix a Boeing door hatch.

    This will take some time to cure. I will update this thread with my results.

    I prefer not to replace something I can fix, even cheap replacements.
