Did you install this with the JBL or non-JBL system?

Non-JBL though I'm pretty sure it supports either. I upgraded the speakers and added a subwoofer.

Thanks, been trying to get the upgraded HU to turn the JBL amp on but that’s a whole other story. Your new setup looks great.

I didn't even want to change my HU out thinking I like the archaic look of not having a monitor in my truck. Now I want your monitor. Gotta convince the wife how it's a need somehow... maybe I'll use the new "no hands on phone" law for CO drivers that just started?

Any excuse for cool upgrades. This is one of the nicest glass screens I’ve ever seen even compared to factory installations. Hands free laws here are brutal. $358 fine and 4 demerit points on license. Not that it seems to be anything more than holiday blitz campaign.

How current is this model/version? Think it’s due to be upgraded? Was the wiring install compatible with Tundra or is there a bunch of wiring to be figured out? I’m just talking basics, not extra subwoofers or speakers although if they offered matching compatible speakers it might be nice.

    Wiring seems straight forward.

I'd likely get the dash torn apart only to realize x,y,z connector is missing

I very nearly ordered this the other day, in the end I got something a little more basic but will still be a huge upgrade to my CD player.

can someone enlighten me to the purpose of this, I know it’s the placeholder for the 4wd knob but I’m trying to figure out if it has a specific use

Were those Morimoto headlights LED? No issues with the truck complaining? I have a 2011 CM - I'm getting tired of polishing and/or replacing headlights, and still not having enough light on the road in front of me.

Edit: Found them on the Morimoto website. Pricey! Beautiful headlight options but not sure I want to spend that much on a pair of headlights for a 14 year old truck.

:monocle: Hilarious. A whole generation who never use coin money!! I’m sorry but lately it’s been coming up. Sadly those who know don’t use it either cause the crackheads have been videoed smashing a car window for .25 cents. Sad testament to society.

I just upgraded to Morimoto headlights. Wasn’t too keen on LED but sadly halogen options are just not worthy. They are expensive. If you want to maybe save but upgrade look at Sequoia headlights with lower panel replacement. I think this is slightly cheaper way to go. Either way will improve your life.

Seems like a missed opportunity to make some accessories like phone holders that snapped into it, thought maybe there was something floating around out there.

the coin holders I’ve seen in my vehicles have always been, well, coin sized ‍:notsure: My last truck had little slots for 5 each of the 4 main coins and held the single coins a mm or so apart, it was a 97 Ram 1500.

tack on the cigarette push lighters and ash trays, even CD players now and you could make a whole list of “missing” features for the next generations

I got my window busted open for the CDs in my visor pocket in 2006, never kept more than a couple of them in the car at a time after that.

The loose carrier pin was chewed up where the spider gears spin on it rendering the whole diff junk so i elected to try tig welding it first before trying to locate a junkyard third member.

My method to reinstall it laying on my gravel driveway was wearing my motorcycle armored vest and stomach pressing it up into place. Dumb, but it worked lol. :homer:

Waiting for the rtv to dry now.

Wiring was straightforward; it's made for the Tunra. It easy for me to add a subwoofer and connect extra front and rear cameras. I doubt it'll get an upgrade being that the truck is as old as it is.

None yet but the list is growing
Hit 86,000 on the ODO. I know its not a magical number, but at this point, for a 2011, and the amount I drive it, may not see 100,000 for another few years.

I attempted to replace the busted AC panel today, I think I’m gonna have to trim down the new piece a little bit to make it fit without warping. That’s what I get for getting a cheap one from China.

Why would you not go to a wrecker for that piece? Get a real Toyota part. FB is full of

I wanted some bad weather lights and installed some auxbeam pod lights from an Amazon deal. There pretty nice for the price. Who knows how well they will hold up. There wide beam pods are right in the middle of spot and floods, maybe closer to spots. They are very bright, and maybe because they are the amber version, but I think my vled v50 high beams may be even more bright. But for the 60 bucks I gave, I like them! Made brackets to mount behind the grill.

And with the help of this forum, I got an air on board switch wired up. I just used their harness and relay and cut the button switch off. I don’t really like the “amber” light in the switch. It doesn’t match my stock switches well. But it will do.

I’ve also been trying to get better at painting. I do have a paint rig, but I’m not 100% on using it. Pretty new to the whole thing. So using color match spray cans and a 2part clear coat in a can, I got these done today also. I broke one taking it off to do my lights. And the other was so dinged up, I figured anything would look better. That 2 part clear was so good, I won’t have to wet sand. Just polish and wax.

That looks nice! What’s going on with your head unit? Looks like you have some sort of spacer between it and the dash. I’m wanting to redo mine.

Thanks! I got a used unit from a member here. Similar to this one but not quite. I’ve been ok with it for the price and probably won’t upgrade for a while.

Took my truck back to the tint place and the owner fixed the headliner that got pulled off the backing when the guy who put the tint on pulled the headliner. It has a couple waves in it from being stretched, but it is no longer hanging down. So, I'm happier.

Solid in 2 ways. One, you didn't go straight to the google landing page to blast them but chose to let them know they f'd up. Two, they stood up and did what they could to rectify their mistake.

Not sure why the guy pulled on the headliner, but it happened. Yes, it pissed me off. Had to wait for the owner to get back from vacation for him to get in and fix it. I showed up about half an hour before my appointment and I was barely out of the truck before he was out there and ready to pull it into the bay.
Like I said, it's not perfect, but it is acceptable as I can't see any of the distortion unless I lean forward and look for it. Tint itself is great. Looks good, I have already noticed that I don't get as much of a starburst effect from lights and I don't get migraines nearly as fast while driving.

Finally, after nearly 4 weeks, got all my new window weather stripping. Huge difference and it was a piece of cake to swap out.
Old ones didn’t have any felt left for the window

Swapped out my antenna base due to discoloration as well. Not sure how well the new material will hold up to the summer heat though, guess time will tell
