Yes. The 4.10's and the third member in the T3 came from a Sequoia. The difference is the flange for the driveshaft. Which is swappable.

Weekend project experiment. Really like live edge shelves so trying to make my own since they’re ridiculously expensive.
Fun fact, 10”+ wide wood is much better quality than shorter widths like 2x4’s etc. They’re a good option for wood working projects.

 

That’s a cool idea.
Larger wood is pretty much always better quality, has to be cut out of bigger trees usually more heartwood, small dimension stuff is usually produced from around the outside or smaller trees, lots of sapwood and knots.
If I’m making something that I want to be nicer and I need small dimension wood I’ll get bigger dimensions and cut my own.

 

Two different grains/styles. Now to decide if I should get a blow torch and spice things up a bit… hmmm

Charred wood/Charcoal is good for so many things. I've emptied our fire pit into the garden for several years along with mulching/pulverizing our leaves and adding them in the mix. That soil is so rich now.

Our indentured servants work it into the ground, and add some nitrogen

 

Speaking of finishes...

I spent the last six days painting the frame and bodywork for my welder. I had to stay focused on getting it done instead of getting it perfect. These kinds of projects can quickly spiral out of control for me if I don't give myself some kind of quality standard and deadline.

Post media blasting:

Midway through a couple of coats of high build and bumping/filling the worst of the dents

Final Product. A few runs, and plenty of visible sanding scratches. I probably should have hit it with a final coat of primer and finished with a higher grit, but it is "done" so mission accomplished. Looks damn good from 10 feet


Cleaning the shop today and looking forward to working on something else for a while.

Like a lot of folks, it's hard for me to keep a work bench clean and I'm always searching for place to set a tool box or parts or whatever. I've managed to put together a generic portable workspace for a quick popup in the garage or for use away from home. It's a 4-foot folding table topped with a

non-slip mat and a roll up Kobalt tool set. Strictly for automotive work, the tool kit is missing combination wrenches and deep well sockets. However, it is stocked for a variety of projects. It is the only set I found of this size that has both sockets and several types of pliers. Most sets have one or the other, but not both.

 

It’s already a bad year when you go into work and facilities has tossed out all the 20+ year older comfortable chairs and replaced them with some uncomfortable ergonomic POS.

 

What is the process for adding a live edge?

 

Dislike, unless of course the ergonomic POS is a Herman Miller Aeron...thems fightin' words.

 

I went from a Steelcase Criterion highback to one of their newer models. Nobody here likes them.

I’d love to get one of the newer Herman Millers with the newer lumbar support. I don’t like the older ones.

 

I cut the edge at an angle then took a grinder to it lol. Good enough for what I wanted

Question, would a clock spring from a double cab 04 be interchangeable with my 03 AC?

Switched mine out a couple weeks back but it started making a whining sound. Junk yard cool enough to give me another but thought I’d check with folks more knowledgeable than me.

Only visible difference is the 04 has 4 mounting location vs 3 available on mine.

They don't look compatible to me, Voss. 03 has a single harness and clip. 04 has 2 harnesses and 2 clips.

 

I want to say the '03 uses a single-stage airbag and '04 uses dual. This may be a question for @daveeasa to chime in about, he has some knowledge on single/dual on the airbags I think.

 

That would make sense because it accounts for the separate harnesses. The MY applications are definitely not the same.

That's possible.

Voss, what is the date of manufacture for your 03 and date of manufacture of your 04? That will narrow down the possibilities for swapping.
