Had to post a couple more, I love how capable these trucks are and the cool things I’ve gotten to see out of it

Btw these 7 series method bead grips are awesome. I ran all day at 8psi and have amazing traction and no problems. My friend has machined 703’s and ran at 4psi, perfect for deep snow

Simple but useful mod. I take groups out off roading about once a month and radio comms are essential to what we do with 10 to 15 rigs. I had the small cheap external speaker in my cupholder at the rear of the center console, but it barks so loudly that my wife hates it. So I moved it to my head rest. The RAM mount fits nicely on the half inch bar of the headrest and now the sound goes right into my ear at a lower volume, so it doesn’t annoy my wife. I was able to sneak the wire down through the back of the seat, both sides of the seat unzip on the back, making it easy to get access

2500 miles to Death Valley and back, thousands of dirt miles and a piece of rebar took out my rear drivers side tire. I was on my way to Kalispell MT and little St Regis has a small tire and tow shop that was going to see if they could patch it but they couldn’t break the bead on my Methods. They did put the spare up front for me. The hole was massive so I have a pair of new tires now. Not the Christmas present I was expecting to buy for myself.

    35” spare vs 37”

Are you still happy with the westcott lift up front? Not too stiff?

It’s been fine for the price, the issue is the rebound as the shocks can’t keep up which the extra pop on the springs. I talked with Ben Brazda at Filthy Motor Sports (great educational YouTube channel btw) for about 30 minutes this week and I’m close to pulling the trigger on a set of Kings. I had a set on my Tacoma and loved them so we talked about how to tune them for my application with weight going on and off with the rack.

But for the price I can’t really say too much bad about the Westcott system.

So a couple questions for you but first Really great build thread and I would love to do a lot of what you've done so far. Can’t say how much I like your truck. What do the 37’s weigh, do you like Toyo tires and did you re-gear for those tires? I’m debating on Methods and Toyo but still in the thought process. Currently running Nitto trail graps and they are around 70 plus pounds but I pull a lot ( Scout boat, lawn care trailer etc.) and was worried about adding too much weight and causing transmission issues? Thank you

You know idk the weight but I’m sure toyo.com has that info. You do lose a couple mpg so you’d have to just know and accept that. The 7 series bead grips for Methods have been amazing. I warn tire shops about them to go slow de-beading them because they hold the bead so well. One shop ripped a sidewall and another couldn’t get it off.

I regards to the transmission it’s a 10 speed and hasn’t had any issues spinning the additional rotation mass. In sport mode I can still chirp the tires, I’ve never done a burnout as I pay for these tires myself! Haha

I love the way it looks now but it also helps off road for clearance, but not everyone has that need I know

I understand I just can’t decide to go up to 37 or not. Don’t off road a lot, I hunt, fish and work out of it on alot on the east coast but nothing like you do. I appreciate the quick response. Stay safe

    Go 37’s!

Everytime you walk up to the truck you’ll like it. And away if you turn and look (in slow motion of course)

FITCAMX DASHCAM FOR 3RD GEN TUNDRAS

I had a window mounted dashcam but never loved how it looked. I have one of these for my Rav4 and it looks OEM and barely there so I grabbed one for my truck. My guilty pleasure is watching dashcam crash videos on YT btw.

Install took like 20 minutes and it uses the mirror/TSS power at the top of the windshield, super easy.

I made a DIY aluminum tailgate overlay. I looked at Snail Armor, Mountain House, Billie Bars, and All Pro tailgate tables. The first 3 are just overlays but All Pro has an actual insert replacement. None are cheap. I grabbed scrap aluminum from my local metal shop and got a half sheet of .080 for $44.

I bolted the aluminum to the tail gate skin and then made access holes to screw that to the tailgate. I may put foam on it or thin HDPE, we’ll see

Yeah I need the protection up in North Idaho from deer (moose & bear which will still crunch it though) and foliage in the back country.
I like the look, function, and protection of the Ironman unit. Second photo is a mock up I drew to see what the front would look like with two 7” driving lights. I’m going with Strands Skylords, the DRL’s are killer and can be amber or white.
