I found this hole plug under my front right wheel well slightly behind the right tire. For the life of me, I could not find where it fell off.

I checked in and around the wheel well, under rocker panels, door sills, around the door frame inside and out. I deployed the power steps and checked under there too. My fear is with the snow, salt and slush, it's going to cause rust to form where ever this plug fell off.

    Your help is appreciated.

That mystery plug has fallen off a few member's trucks, and there's been a thread about it. No one seems to know where they come from.

Well, shoot. I just found this plug in my driveway. Logged on to see if anyone knew where it went. Guess I'll toss it in a drawer and wait.

I found one too in my driveway and have no idea where it goes or what it belongs to.

I think it's the plug for the plastic liner in front of the front wheels and above the front sway bar, if you have one.

Yeah it isn't that one either, I don't have a plastic cover in front of my sway bar as I have the TRD PRO skid plate.

Could it be one of the plugs from underneath the truck, on either side, that runs under the doors where the wiring harness channel runs?

Probably left over from assembly. Many components have plugs in the holes prior to assembly that are removed during the process. For numerous reasons some just don't make it to the bin as intended. Toss it in the glove box until you are comfortable.

I'm beginning to think so because the piece is in new condition with no dirt or wear on it. Maybe after I washed the underbody frame it jostled loose. I'll throw it the miscellaneous parts box in my garage just in case.

You don't have your well wheel liners in do you?

It isn't that plug at least on my truck. It does look like in new condition.

Is that the same part? It's on a tailgate; both sides, by the hinges (did not remove it to cross reference to P/N).
