    I did a thing….

I didn’t like the hybrid storage options like molle or over well swing out…. So I found this metal bracket off Amazon and I think this setup is gonna do the trick IMG_5478.jpg IMG_5479.jpg IMG_5483.jpg IMG_5486.jpg

Took advantage of 40F+ degree temps in December and did an oil and filter change in the driveway.
Rhino ramps, Fumoto valve, MotivX Tools filter socket and funnel for the win. Easy-Peasy.
5K mile interval, 10K on the truck now.
Sending another sample off to Blackstone but not too worked up about it.
Cut the filter open; absolutely nothing to see here, move along.

One year anniversary with the truck on 12/26!
One year anniversary on Tundras.com on 12/27!

One step closer to making my own TrailHunter Tundra, since they didn't release it, turning my 2024 Platinum into one. Installed new bed rack today Amazon knock off since I emailed ARB and they aren't making one for the Tundra like they do the Taco.

Sincerely, what’s the functional purpose of the rack? They look cool because they make it look like a trophy truck-ish, but is that it?

Yep, looks and light bar mounts, without drilling into truck. You could also mount things to the molly panels if off-roading like a small shovel or those spare gas cans or water cans, etc. I just loved the look of it on the Tacoma Trailhunter, if it had about 6” more space in back seats and the power rear glass, would have bought one, but the new Tacoma doesn’t have any more interior backseat room than my FJ Cruiser, so went with Tundra a larger Tacoma, and building my on Trailhunter tribute version. Some bed racks/ roll bars offer structural enhancement or protection, but this one is for aesthetics for me, I have SxS and FJ for off roading, not taking a$78k truck where I take them, it only sees dirt roads farm land off roading. Just like the look and feel of it driving it always puts a smile on the face, lol.

It's the cooler, modern 4X4 version of this:
    LUND Racerback.jpg

You couldn't swing a dead cat in 1988-1994 without hitting one of these things.
Pretty sure ZERO functional purpose on those....but I had one on my '89 GMC.

I’ve had the same thought about the BillieBars tailgate panel. The price tag’s a bit of a shock, but I like the idea of a non-slip surface. I have the option with cupholders sitting in my cart online. I’ll probably pull the trigger on it, but it’s not a top priority.

Yea man it was a steal hahaha
I wish they did a better job with the reverse light placement or just provided their own as the oem doesn't fit right but it'll work I guess.

I installed the formlight from DD instead, it looks kind funky when you are installing, but from a distance it works just find for both reverse as well as the license, but definitely not a perfect fit. I'm still waiting for my front one, they told be the front ones were behind in production :-(

How did the install go? Did you go with OEM replacement units or did you get extended length? Where did you purchase them? How has the ride been? I’m curious the ride quality of the 3.0 vs 2.5

Same here. I had to rush to put mine on because my fiance was having a hard time jumping in and out of the truck lol. As you can see, like i did, when it slims to the back there is not a lot to stand on, but just enough to do the job.
I also like how they go out from the truck just enough to protect the doors. I didn't even think about it until this weekend. I was at the grocery store and some jack-wagon threw his car door open and all it did was smack into my step rails instead of the door of my truck. messed his door up nice which i loved, but my truck walked away clean lol

    Nice simple rear end!!
Wish someone made one that would cover around the corner plastic instead of having to do cutting. I'm wanting one, just a little more with foot tread. I use to just using my wheels to step in the bed.

It’s been a solid tire so far, it’s also my first a/t tire so take what I say with a grain of salt. I wanted road focused with occasional off road and it seems to live up to that well. Have about 7k miles on them already. I’ve taken it to Cotopaxi up around 9500 ft with fresh dry snow, and felt it handled it well. More recently (yesterday) Took it on the old river road in big bend with about 60 miles of primitive road and it also performed well on the somewhat easy trail. Tons of rocks, washboard and lots of soft riverbed along with some straight up sand areas and it had no issues getting grip. For the city driving I do, I feel they start to loose some grip on an overpass around 55 so I tend to stick to under 50 but we shouldn’t be flying around an overpass anyway. And for wet, they do loose some grip in wet (like all tires) but it hasn’t caused a concer, just brake a little sooner.

Lmk if you’ve got any other questions.

Rear shock install was easy and completed in the driveway. I have the front King 3.0 IBPs, Camburg upper control arms, Method 17” wheels, and 35x12.50x17 Toyo AT3s sitting in the garage waiting to go on. Front install should be complete next week.

I rode in the same truck with this exact kit and ride quality was great. The 3.0’s aren’t necessary, but a nicer ride than the 2.5’s. I think a factor is the 3.0 has a bigger coil and requires less preload than the 2.5.

Easy installation because there are several professional install videos on YouTube. Prepare for certain steps to be harder than they look (particularly, pulling certain bits apart are harder for some) and for the process to take longer than an hour.
