Recently noticed my infotainment doesn’t change to “night mode” or dark mode when it’s night time with the display setting set to auto. Does anybody know what I could do to remedy this? The screen is bright as hell at night since it doesn’t switch. I
tried researching but everything points to the auto setting which I have on.

Try reducing your screen brightness by one click.

If your phone is connected through car play or android auto, it can also be a setting with your phone.
I personally use android auto and Waze for navigation. I have mine set on dark mode 100% of the time, day & night.

On the JBL you can set it for day, night or auto. I, same as Raven said, leave it on night mode 24/7
When I did dable with CarPlay it was on all the time, which I did not like but in fairness I didn’t even look into changing it.

The weird thing is my phone will switch to night mode, but the rest of the infotainment doesn’t. When I first got the truck, the screen would somewhat dim at night. Now it’s so bright I have to manually turn it down then back up during the day.

I may just have to go night mode full time. I did the same when I had the 4Runner but liked having it change and get brighter during the day

if i remember correctly, auto is dependent on headlight sensitivity setting. not sure if it affects dark/light mode but all interior lights dim when the headlights come on i think

Update… pulled the dash and found one connector was ever so slightly unplugged. Not sure exactly which one it ended up being but I unplugged and re plugged every connector that was removed to install the Beatsonic amp. That included the two connectors that aren’t used for the install, but make it easier to access the others. (Black and brown)

Wish Tundras.com had a dark/night mode like tacomaworld.
