SL or E Baja boss for 2004 dc?

    Looking at the Baja boss tires in the 265/75r16 size, should I go with SL or e load range? I am on the road most of the time but do drive off road on light logging trails and gravel roads for hunting

    E-rated tires are going to be more harsh/stiff with bumps.

    I can tell you I LOVE the Baja series tires. I have Baja Legend EXP and I loved the damn things. E-rated, but are far quieter than the C-rated Falken Wildpeak AT3W I had on for a bit, stickier, and better mannered on the road/highway. I know there are others on here like @BluegrapeVr6 running Mickeys and he loves his too.

    If you’re mostly city, not sure I’d do E-rated, but highway and towing and whatnot, absolutely. I’m sure others will have input. Boss was my 2nd choice. I wanted a meatier, more aggressive tread though.

    I second that. Over 42k on EXP. Dead smooth at 80mph, great on and off road. I expected them to wear un-evenly after 10-15k. I rotate every 5k and they are a good bargain. Never gotten stuck, pulled several screws out of them, good well built tire. No experience w snow grip, but aired down great on loose shake and great mud-tires. Good in dry/wet. Ill prob buy another set, i got lucky i bought mine when they first came out for $165 a tire. Damn inflation.

    Yeah I will be on the highway but I never really go above 70 or so, the weight gain with the e rated tire is quite a lot, it seems like there is no in between for the Baja boss

    E rated tires are only worth on rigs that don’t require them when they’re off-roading a lot and the tires have 3 ply side walls or it’s hauling/towing heavy frequently.

    E load range is overkill for a 1/2 ton pickup. That said, I run Blizzak LT winter tires because the Bridgestone WR standard load snows famously don't last very long on full-sized vehicles.

    For the Baja Boss A/T SL 116T the load rating spec on TireRack is 2765 lbs. Times 4 that is over 10k lbs which far exceeds the Tundra's GVWR of 6,600 lbs, so the standard load tires are plenty. The size is 3% larger than stock, which is right at the legal limit. You're good!
