AC isn't blowing cold air. I have not used the ac for a bit. I drove to Florida a couple days ago. When switching from hot to cold air and pushing ac button the ac isn't kicking in. No cold air. Any suggestion in what to look for first?

First I would check any related fuses. 2 fuse boxes to check...under driver dash and in engine compartment. Each box cover has a diagram for fuse location/system.

And check any electric connections for AC, wire could be broken...or chewed by rodents.

I end up putting a can of freon in it. The can came with a gauge. Therefore, it showed it was empty. I put in the entire can. AC worked immediately. But, a went to use it Xmas day, no more cold air again. So, I have a slow leak somewhere. What would you suggest? Thanks for the reply also. Cheers

Do not use any refrigerant that has stop leak. When you need service, the tech will not work on the system. The stop leak chemical will ruin their $6000 refrigerant recovery system.

Get the refrigerant with the ultraviolet dye in it. In a couple days use an ultraviolet light to make the leak show up vividly.

The leak is most likely the condenser, since it always exposed to the outside and is the first to get hit with road debris.

Check all the fitting as well.

The dye/light system works very well. Look up some tube vids as well for more deets.
