    Morning all,

Question about AT&T data plan in my 2025 Tundra. I have a paid unlimited data plan with my vehicle and just checked the usage.

In the last month, my plan used less than 300MB of data while at the same time, my cell phone (connected to the vehicle via Android Auto) used almost 4GB of data while driving.

What good is the mobile data plan if my truck relies so heavily on its bluetooth connection to my phone?

Do I have a setting incorrect, or is the mobile data plan only to offer WiFi to other devices in the vehicle?

The truck mobile data plan is to turn your truck into a mobile hotspot.

    From the app:

If you have a decent plan for your “cell phone” you should already have hot spot capability without the added cost of the Toyota/AT&T gimmick.

My phone is paid for by my company who is still dark ages regarding some things so I watch my data. It does say that you can use AT&T to "link your Amazon Music account."

I guess I'll root around and see if there's a way to have this (and other streaming apps that I use) default to use the Wi-Fi in leiu of always going through my phone to stream.

If not, you're right, not worth $200 a year if it barely gets used.
