So I've been a Ford guy all my life. 80% of the vehicles I've ever owned have been Fords. My last vehicle was a 2018 F150 that I had planned to keep for a long time and just be happy with it. Instead, it turned into a major headache with almost constant problems (So thankful that I had a CPO warranty and an extended warranty through Ford because I had to use the crap out of them). The F150s have quite the pedigree, and a lot of people have very good luck with them. I was not one of those people.

The final nail in the coffin was the panoramic roof that leaked whenever it rained. The dealer blamed it on the drains being clogged, but even after they cleaned them, they leaked and left puddles of water on my passenger side foot well. Needless to say, that was unacceptable to me, so I decided to get rid of the truck.

I don't trust a single thing that the big 3 have put out lately, so I ventured into the world of Toyotas and ended up with a '21 1794 Edition. It's a beautiful truck. The interior is what sold me. It was more than I wanted to spend, but the wife actually encouraged it! :eek2:

I've only had it for about a week, and only driven it twice so far, but I'm happy with my decision. This truck is primarily our family vehicle and I hope to make a lot of great memories with it. I just hope that I picked a good one, and don't have many problems with it through the years.

I'm not planning on doing too much to it, but I do need to make it my own. Level it, tint match the front windows, new tonneau cover, and a TRD exhuast...maybe some other small things.

That's really it. Just wanted to drop in and say hello.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! I hope you didn't cherish the relationship you had with the dealer!

Great pick, I think you are going to be very pleased. Most of us have run 200k plus with very few if any issues.

Smart man, You should be fine as far as reliability you have a 21 you didn't buy a 22 or newer.

    Welcome to Toyota!

I am back in a Toyota again after 18 years. I still have my Ford, but it is for sale. It's a different situation as it an 04 Excursion with the 6.0 Powerstroke. It is a pulling beast. I just don't need that power any longer. I was looking to get a V8 version and loved the 1794 models. A trip to the dealer and a ride in a 22 Limited sold me. I get the punny joke above, but I have faith that Toyota will make this drive-train right and it will be the dependable truck they have the reputation for.

Enjoy your truck, that's what matters!

    Mike
