Hello! So I’ve been searching on here like crazy and I can’t find any info… Has anyone ever put a front camera in the limited grill for the 2nd or 2.5 gen tundras? If so where/how did you mount it?

Only spot I could put it without modifying the grill which I wasn’t going to do.

It appears that the FRAC harness that many of us here are running (which is no longer being produced by its original designer/vendor) is possibly going to be produced by another vendor. Keep watch as I'd imagine something will be coming up in the next few months.

Regarding fitment, I know that the 20 and 21 Tundras w/JBL required a different set up than the pre-20s.... but I have no idea about fitment on the non-JBL units. I'm sure if a new vendor ends up bringing this design back to market, you'll be able select the appropriate set up for your application

    I was aware.

I've half ass watching the for sale threads hoping that someone with a '21 had moved to a 3 rd gen and was selling there used FRAC harness.

Kind of kicking myself for not getting one earlier.

This is what I purchased and I’m hoping to make it work. Looks like it’s a pretty good kit since the FRAC kits are no longer produced (although I see rumblings from the creator that someone else is taking over production). I see all sorts of SR5 honeycomb and TRD pro grill cameras but no limited model installed pics on here. (Besides pic above..) Ideally a bracket of some sort would be great. Waiting to get the kit to see what I can come up with but I don’t want to reinvent the wheel if someone already went through this and this place is amazing for stuff like this. Thanks all!

My TSS emblem is held in place with a black zip tie. You can't tell it's there unless you kneel down to look at it.

I'm not gonna give a second though about zip tieing a camera to the grill so I can have a front camera.

I installed this: It installs under the rear view mirror by replacing the black cover. Plug & Play. You can get front & rear cameras, but I just went with the front.

Mine is XP=SR5. Bought a Wifi camera from Amazon. Used tag plate mount in the grill.

I used a pic above to illistrate where I mounted mine. Originally I had it mounted in the grill but the parking lines were lined up too far out and it always looked like I was parking too close. Now the red lines mean STOP.

Mine's an SR5, not a limited, but my camera is mounted WAY lower than the grill... just above the license plate/valence.

This location works well for my needs, which is primarily parking assistance. Off road is a nice secondary bonus, not using for any "dash-cam" type duties.

It's good because I can see the edge of the valance in the frame, so as long as I see daylight between the valance and whatever's in front of me I know I'm good. Can easily get within an inch or two.

Having front & rear cams I've stuffed it into parking spots I wouldn't have even attempted otherwise.

    Just food for thought.
