Yikes. How much clearance do those have? I also wonder how many others with 17" wheels have experienced similar, though I suppose it could happen with any size wheel.

Both sides are like that actually and appear to be from the factory. These wheels shave gobs of clearance vs other 17’s

Have the 17” wheels given anyone issues? I know Toyota recommends 18” because of the size of the brakes, but…. I mean who wants 18s .

Got any more pictures of your truck? I’ve been looking at this exact combo. How has it been over time?

All those look great! But I think the concern with 17” wheels is the clearance to the calipers. Noticed that most of the 17”s in this thread are +0-20mm offset . Curious if the smaller offset is necessary for caliphate clearance. ???????????

The 4th truck on the first page (silver) has the method 703's with 35mm offset but I would confirm with the manufacturer of whatever wheel you go with because they vary in shape

    LT285/75R17 Toyo Open Country AT-III
Factory suspension (on the truck in this picture)

These Five Stars have a high clearance barrel design that we developed specifically to fit over the Tundra brakes with as much brake clearance as possible while still maintaining an appropriate (positive) offset.

The wheels are very light weight at 24lbs per wheel, and they are also properly load rated for the Tundra at 2,500lbs per wheel (SAE J2530 testing standard). The load rating was achieved with a 37" tire diameter.

This is important to note since a higher load rating could have been achieved with smaller tire diameters. However, our intention was to develop a 17" wheel that is as light as possible, tested to the strictest testing standard possible, while maintaining a load rating that was appropriate for the Tundra with the largest tire diameter possible.

No, 17s are the smallest that will clear the caliper. Not even all 17s will fit, the barrel of some of them make contact with the caliper
