Just wondering if anyone is running a tune in their truck for the bigger tires?

I currently have 4.30 gears I know changing to 4.88s would definitely help the truck get some power back. I’m just looking for a tuner that I can get a little power out of and calibrate the truck for 37s.

I’m new here so go easy on me.

OTT is the best but don’t expect miracles. It’s still an NA engine so 20hp/tq ain’t gonna be real noticeable. The shift points in the trans will be the biggest benefit.

Also, 5.29’s. 4.88’s are to small.

Best way to “calibrate” the truck for 37s is with new gears. 5.29 is needed for 37s. Tuning won’t help

Thanks for the info guys. I should have clarified. I was looking to calibrate the speedo. Not the truck…. But I guess if I’m doing gears I need to go with the 5.29’s I pull my boat quite often so I figured a gear change would help with that. But also lower rpm’s at highway speeds. She doesn’t do really all that bad with stick gearing. I’m currently dealing with a flex fuel issue. My truck ecu thinks I’m running 85% ethanol fuel when I’m not. So it’s definitely not help my MPGs. Again appreciate the help gentlemen. :hattip:

Tuner won’t fix the speedometer. That’s a separate box.

Makes perfect sense now that I’m thinking about it. Analog Speedo with a stepper motor I guess there is no way to calibrate it. Will have to run a separate information gauge like the hypertech. Hopefully I’m correct in my thinking.

I was hoping Toyota would cover the flex fuel issue under the TSB but I’m unsure.
