I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between a 2024 1794 Limited Edition and a TRD Pro. From what I can gather it's merely cosmetic such as the camo print fender flares on Pro and rear door sunshades on the LE. There are a bunch of other things but I'm mainly interested in the suspension. They both list the suspension as having...

Off-road suspension with 1.1-in. front lift, 2.5-in. FOX® Internal Bypass coil-overs and rear remote-reservoir shocks with a front stabilizer bar.

Besides having an ever so slightly different tire/wheel size is there any difference mechanically between the two like control arms?
Is the 1794LE basically a snooty TRD Pro?

Have mine already (#1083), just wasn't sure if there were any other differences in the suspension. Wonder why they also didn't do the thicker (red) front axles. How much thicker is "thicker?"

The red axels are not thicker (well maybe they are) , but they have a different type of CV joint on them that allows more travel. That is why you need them for any of the lift kits. My 25 1794 with the TRD off road package has them, the Bilstein shocks, rear locker and possibly different spring rates. The TRD Pro has the fox shocks a different exhaust system and more HP and a bunch more. I do not think you can get the TRD pro and 1794 together.

My truck is a 1794 LE, same as a TRD Pro but more bells and whistles depending how you look at it. Suspension is the same according to the Toyota site but it seems like the exception is the front axles. Just seems weird that they equipped it with the same suspension as the TRD Pro but didn't use the same front axles. I'd also have to assume that the TRD Pro has the TRD upper control arms which mine don't.

The 1794le was such a pisspoor limited version of a pro

Tbh the pro has more "pro" stuff, like the camo trim pieces, bbs forged rims etc

Obviously "pisspoor" is just your opinion of it. Not sure how having camo trim pieces and other "pro" stuff makes it any better but to each his own.

The big thing for me when I was making the same decision was that I prefer the BBS Rims and Pro Suspension. I wanted a truck that I didn't need to change any major parts on , and the PRO was the "style" I wanted. The PRO also has a better resale value where I'm located, so that made it a no brainer decision at that moment.

I was torn between the two until I saw the LE in person. The Pro did make me drool (and I looked at that in person also) but the LE's enhanced interior creature comforts was more suited to my families needs. I guess you could say I'm a Toyota fanboy with a few rare Toyota's presently in my stable. Only having 1,500 LE's produced in the world was an added bonus that would make the stable even better.

I purchased the LE for the interior. To each there own which is why consumers have so many options. My LE has been flawless for the first six months.

Or you could just be a dork and turn your 1794 into a pro. I wanted the look of the pro, but interior of the 1794. And by the way, I have a 2/1” full suspension lift, which is more than the pro, yet I didn’t need the red axles. I don’t think they even come on the pro…either way, they are longer, not thicker. The silver ones are both. You really only get in trouble and need to do a differential drop OR add longer get axles when you go above 2”. #science

I also primarily purchased my LE for the interior although the suspension and limited numbers sealed it for me. I can’t believe how much I love it after 8 months. The smell just appeals to one more sense in addition to the look and feel which is rewarding every time you get in (in contrast to some of the mechanical upgrades which some may forget exist). It makes driving the truck feel a bit more of a sense of occasion. I have a handful of other cars which most people would think would be more fun to drive but I find myself using the Tundra the most. The kids also love it (“so comfortable”) and I think it will age well. I’m glad Toyota made it.

the price increase for it to be limited #, and you dont even get fancier rims or different body trims vs the other 1794 is where I am saying its a pisspoor trd pro variant.

I would have expected at least the bbs rims or another exclusive set of rims (they both have different tailgates vs the regular tundras), and tbh they dont hold value as well as a pro even though the msrp costed more, the last brand new one i saw got sold on bat for 68k, i think to the regular public its just not a "pro" and dont really understand this is a special limited run either, every other toyota is a "limited edition" to the regular person

I agree that to the regular public they don't know the difference and it doesn't really matter to them. Again, what drew me to the LE was that it had everything the TRD Pro had mechanically along with the creature comforts I liked and that suited my family. The price increase over a Pro was not just for a limited edition number, the Saddleback seats are what sets it apart. Yes, they could have put on the BBS rims and the camo trim but the whole point of having different trim levels is to set it apart from other trim levels.
I'm not sure I'd say that one holds value better over the other at this point but let's see how the numbers compare.

According to Kelly Blue Book using my location, the exact same parameters as far as year, mileage, condition, standard options, same color with 8k miles and selling privately...
    TRD Pro - $62,291 to $67,251
    1794 LE - $68,905 to $74,390
Difference in price using high number: $7,139

    Trade in value...
    TRD Pro - $58,941 to $63,325
    1794 LE - $65,717 to $70,938
Difference in price using high number: $7,613

According to Edmunds private party sale...
    TRD Pro - $60,148
    1794 LE - $69,993
    Difference in price: $9,845

    Edmunds trade in value...
    TRD Pro - $56,890
    1794 LE - $65,694
    Difference in price: $8,804

I then went on the Toyota site and searched for both 2024 trim levels in a 500 mile radius. 9 TRD Pro's were available and 2 1794 LE's were available. Using the SRP* price, not the dealer price so as to not skew the numbers, the average prices were...
    TRD Pro - $76,121
    1794 LE - $80,653
    Difference in price: $4,532.50

If you deduct the $4,532.50 SRP* price difference from the KBB and Edmunds numbers the 1794 LE's value is better than the TRD Pro in both a private sale and trade in value.
    KBB Private - $7,139 - $4,532.50 = $2,606.50
    KBB Trade - $7,613 - $4,532.50 = $3,080.50
    Edmunds Private - $9,845 - $4,532.50 = $5,312.50
    Edmunds Trade - $8,804 - $4,532.50 = $4,271.50

Now I may be doing this all wrong in my calculations and comparisons so all of this may be for nothing. If I'm going about it all the wrong ways please feel free to correct me.

In my opinion when it comes down to it I can only think that in 5 years the gap in numbers will only increase as more TRD Pro's will be on the street since the trim level is still being produced while the LE's will only diminish from the original 1,500 produced.

I like what you did with the 1794 badge. I'm guessing those are not the OEM Hybrid fake vents?

I went from a 2023 1794 to a 2024 1794 Limited Edition and love it. I bought it for the beautiful interior and added off-road features. I wouldn't trade it for a new 1794 or Pro I love it that much!

They should have offered the 1794 LE with a 6 and a half foot bed. Even should have an option for a pro with a 6 and a half foot bed. Sucks they don’t cause I would have loved to get an LE or pro but a 6 and a half foot bed was a must for me.

Exactly. My #1 requirement was 6.5’ bed.
I drove both though. Not my style, but the LE’s interior set it far above the Pro in my eyes. As noted, only 1500 made, Pros are built every day.

Thanks! That’s exactly what they are. It’s very easy to pop off the TRD Pro and rave sells the 3D printed badges. I was on the fence at first, but not really like the contrast.

Without a doubt if they offered either of the two with the 6.5' bed I probably would have went that route also. I did test drive a 1794 with the 6.5' bed, the only thing I hated about it was the abysmal turning radius. 5.5' bed has a 48.6' while the 6.5 had 50'. Might not seem like much but coming from an 08 Tundra that had a 44' radius I'd never be able to maneuver in the parking lots I frequent.

As I did, if you're spending that kind of money to garage the thing thinking it'll be worth something one day you need to get your head checked. I personally keep my vehicles for 15+ years, if by chance having one of 1,500 helps that resale value down the road great, if not no loss at all.

And let’s be honest, it’s just cool to have something exclusive. I see nothing wrong with the bragging rights.

I will say that I bought my 2021 Tacoma pro new for 45k and sold it for 46k 3ish months ago. I did also get it at MSRP when everything was going crazy.

Turn radius does suck compared to my old Tacoma. But honestly if I can’t make it and it’s just a curb I just go up on the curb hahah. It’s a truck after all. I will say, parking garages are rough and tight parking lots suck too (thankfully I’m far enough away from a major city that I don’t have to worry about tight spaces too often).

Any of the true TRD Off Road packages on the Limited and up have the Billsteins, TRD front axles and terrain controls- on anything other than the TRD Pro it is a rare package on the 1794, Limited, and Platinum (only becoming available on the Plat. later)

I traded my 23 pro for my 1794LE, mostly for the factory running boards along with the fox suspension and the amazing interior.
