2015 Crew cab

Hello everyone and Cheers. I have a 2015 4.6 crew cab. I live in Slidell, Louisiana. Haven't used my ac for a while. Been using the heat some in the early mornings to defrost windshield and warmth. I drove to Florida couple of days ago. Went to use my ac and nothing but warm air. No cold air at all. I have had this truck for about 6/7 years. I have never had ac issues. Should I just try to put freon in first? What should I check for first? Thanks in advance.
