    Thoughts on these caliper pistons?

Driver side outer pad completely wore down.

Can’t tell much from that. Do they compress? The pads can get stuck in the casting and the pins and accelerate wear

Yeah clean em up/lube and push em back with the old pad - I do not see any leaks or tears.

I'm sure someone's going to tell me I'm wrong, but the only thing I grease is the pins

Anti-seize on the slide pins (after you scotch pad them and clean, and on the back of the pad where the pistons contact. That's what I've done historically no issues. Pistons and caliper looks fine to me also.

Does the rotor have some play on the hub prior to pad installation? I don’t remember.

I've always used thin coat of ceramic brake grease on corner end of pad plate where it might touch caliper, on back of pad between the plate and shim, and where shim touches pistons. Plus pins of course.

The pins and the clips that the pads slide in, and I guess the backing plate, although that is a new one to me. Great choice of pads by the way, love me some of that yellow stuff

I know for the sure the front is 79 ft lbs. I think the back is 40 but don't quote me on those.

on the caliper bolts put red loctite on them, slide pins in the rear get grease but no loctite. Just hit the front and rear caliper bolts with the impact or make sure theyre good and tight, the slide pins you want to just snug up

torque on front caliper bolts is 133 ft lbs
rear caliper bolts are 123 ft lbs
rear slide pins are 65 ft lbs

this is from alldata for a 2021 Tundra 4wd; I don't think I would go to those numbers since you aren't using new hardware, just do what I previously stated

That seems really high, is that the bracket to the knuckle or the caliper to the bracket?

I agree it does seem high and I wouldn't torque it to that on a customers car or my own; the bolts are beefy so I don't doubt that they can take it but I would be worried about continuously torqueing to that, the bolt will get fatigued and break. On the repair manual it lists for new bolts which is why I said just red loctite and get it very tight

thats an official repair manual as well so those numbers are accurate
