Looking for advice with SAIS issues:

    2013 w/ 4.6L

Drove to work (over an hour drive) Tuesday in very dense fog. I started my truck after work. Check engine light, traction control off, blinking 4-lo all showed on my instrument cluster, and the truck went in limp mode. OBD kicked P2440 (Switching Valve Stuck Open Bank 1). Unhooked the battery for 5 minutes and all issues went away. Drove home.

Started the truck Wednesday morning. No codes. Drove to work. Started it after work, and check engine light only. OBD kicked P2441 (Switching Valve Stuck Closed Bank 1). Drove home and cleared code. Not sure why it didn’t go into limp mode for a closed valve as well?

OBD kicked no codes today. Anyone feel I’m dealing with more than just a corroded valve? I’m seeing $370 for valve through Yota and $200 for off brand. Looks very easy to replace. Comments?

I understand that the bypass kits are heavily favored in the Tundra community vs. replacing individual SAIS components. I would prefer to install the bypass kit, but I will be dealing with emissions inspection next August. What’s typically involved in emissions inspections? Has this been successful in keeping the trucks from entering limp mode? Are there common issues that have been caused by the bypass kit?
