Today is one of those days the wife and I are on different planets.

Go to a grocery store and I say lets walk the aisle. She agrees. And then darts across the store in the opposite direction.

After getting back on task, she remembers we need peppers and heads back to produce. Daughter and I wait on aisle 4. Wife then legit walks aisles 2-3 (again!) before turning onto 4.

At this point I take over pushing the cart and tell them just follow the cart. I haven’t had a nicotine craving for decades and I had one by aisle 5.

Liquor store and Home Depot were fine b/c I pushed the cart and stopped asking questions. I just made decisions.

Next, I need you to use your imagination. Say your spouse walked you into your favorite store and said “Pick out whatever you want”. Imagine the awesome.

My wife’s favorite store is a fancy cooking store in town. I green light it b/c I am short two presents for Christmas. She immediately turns to the section with glassware (which she just bought online a few months ago) and shit like cloth napkins and crap. I walk off cuz I’ve had it by then. She eventually shows up with four wood spoons and a goofy tool for her mom’s stocking.

Maybe I will work the holiday.

 

Are liquor stores open on Sunday?
I guess Texas isn't so great after all...

And I feel your pain, I hate going to the stores with my wife.
She wants to cruise every aisle..

Very vague. Cuz if it was against the law the car shouldn’t allow it

 

Liquor sales are private here in WA. One of the very…umm…smart things we do.

It may be my Wyoming interpretation, but that just sounds like "keep right except to pass" is the law, not that passing on the right is illegal.

Kinda weird in WA, like @Blue Thunder said our liquor stores are private run but we also have liquor in grocery stores.

 

Shopping of any kind but groceries especially is best done by yourself when the store is as empty as possible.

 

Allowing for private liquor stores was one of the best decisions our government has made in the last 50 years or so. Changing the tax rules to make it easier for craft breweries to get started was another.

My buddy’s Granpda, literally lived in a cave south of here. It was actually super cool

 

Not sure I could do that down there. Too many spiders and scorpions, but the lack of maintenance on a cave definitely has an appeal.

 

His cave was a legit man cave, very minimalist; but the cave he built for his ex wife up the hill was elaborate!!!! Gutters on the perimeter for drainage, multiple rooms, kitchen, and a cool like indoor sun room kinda thing. He also had a dark room cave(into photography)

 

That sounds pretty freakin' cool. Depending on how much earth was overhead. My claustrophobia prevents me from enjoying underground things.

 

Nope, but that’s a giant can of whoop ass on the arm that just looks like it would glance your way trying to decide which eye it wants to snatch out.

 

We have liquor stores in Texas, only beer and wine in grocery stores.
The liquor store closes at 9 PM Monday-Saturday closed on Sunday.
Beer and wine sold at stores until midnight every day except Saturday night, then until 1 AM.
But you can go to a bar and drink until 2 am 7 days a week and then drive home.

I had a GF from ST Louis and we visited her family 3 times a year.
I was shocked to see liquor in the grocery stores..

 

Colorado used to not allow liquor stores open on Sundays. one thing we voted on that turned over that archaic mindset. Our liquor stores are private as well not state run. It was the state that didn't allow them to operate on Sundays though. We can now buy beer and wine in grocery stores. This happened last year and is another recent change to liquor sales laws.

 

I feel the same way. So many variables, but would love to cash out and leave.
