When I opened the hood on my '21 TRD Pro I heard a 'snap'. Looked up and one of the brackets to the 'nose cone' of the hood has snapped. (see pics) Does anyone know if this can be fixed by replacing the bracket, or does the whole 'nose cone' need to be replaced.

    Thanks

If you take it off, you may be able to jb weld that piece back together. I have had good success with similar issues but don’t know what the other piece of that bracket looks like

Its the metal clip that snaped, not the 'nose cone'. I found a clip on Toyota Parts Express for $1.09! I think that will fix it.

FYI If the whole mount breaks, you can just move the bolt and metal piece over to the next bracket. This is what I had to do with mine and its been holding great for a year now.

My Hood Bulge broke on Memorial Day weekend when driving Hwy 412 in West Oklahoma... combination of heavy winds and a semi tuck passing in the opposite direction pushing a gush of wind into the front of my truck.

I ordered an OEM one, but they are backordered with no timetable being given. Ordered a generic one off of Amazon for $100, but it was a light gray, not MGM..

In the meantime, I have used black gorilla tape and completely sealed off the opening, to keep air from getting into it and pushing it up.. That opening didn't appeasr to serve a purpose, looks like the wind just goes in and hits a wall so to speak.. So far, it's staying put. Figured what would it hurt bc once I receive a replacement, this one is done.

The only thing holding it on is the plastic pushpins and the one screw kinda in the middle.. The two screws on each end are both broke.

Just an idea for anyone in a similar situation.
