    I installed the SKU: 5085450
Liked the look. Just installed and walked around after dark to see and think they light up pretty well. Haven't ridden behind to see how brake lights look or back up lights. Need to do that now that you mentioned you had a problem with brightness.

Ah ok. I got the smoked version. Which may have been my mistake. I didn’t really want the smoked lense but also didn’t want the white running light tube in the housing. Yours also have the reflective housing in the bottom section with the turn signal and back up light. That is going to hell immensely. Mine were black. Not idea for light output.

I ended up ordering the luxx tail lights from alpharex. Should be here Wednesday and will try them and compare.

Yea, not exactly thrill with clear lens for the turn and back up light. You can see the bulbs, but I can live with it. Should have had a design like an old school tail light to mask what's inside. Can't believe no one thought of that, hey, let's put a pattern to hide this. But. Like the black and smoke but only on certain colored vehilces so went with clear.

And it was out of need. One side on originals was cracked in 2 places and had about 1.5: of water. Other side was nicked so figured time to change.

I have the one you guys are speaking of and I agree about the bulbs standing out. I plan on modding some LEDs for both turn & rear lights (kind of like how the brake lights are designed). But probably won't be tackling this till 2 months from now.

Btw, I've had mine for over 4 yrs and water has not leaked in, the lenses are still clear (not stained), and it has not fogged up. I actually really like the look and design except for the two issues mentioned above.

Wow, that is quite a difference on light output between stock and LED. Not really sure why Spyder says switching to LED will void warranty. Good to know they are holding up well. My OEM's with the leak was my fault, backed into a tree branch and caused the crack. Funny how small crack let in a river of water.

Let me see the mod once you're done

Just wanted to give an update, I finally was able to get these tailights installed decently. I had posted earlier on here way back when the thread was started with issues as the OP. My old spyders bulbs finally went out and decided to intall these that had been sitting since BF of 21. Some reason these installed alot better this go around, I started with the upper mount peg first then the bottom mount and it fitted pretty good. Still have some large gao on top of the light, but dont have the annoying gaps all around as the first time installing these.

You have gap issues? Pleas share.

EDIT - nevermind...I see it in your original post. Sucks.

Thats why I personally went with the non-luxx version with the provision of using regular bulbs for the reverse lights, got them for 130 open box, the reverse lense has a slight tint, but its so much more consolidated (shorter in height and wider) which provides for better reflection for the light to bounce and allow you to see. I put some alla lighting reverse lights from Amazon, super happy with them.

    Amazon.com: Alla Lighting 912 921 LED Bulbs for Back-up Reverse Lights, 6000K Xenon White CAN-BUS 4014 30-SMD T10 T15 906 W16W 921K 922, 360° Light Backup, Cargo Lights Replacement, Extremely Super Bright : Automotive

Also dont freak out if one light doesnt work, just pop the one out and flip the connector over, and do the same to the other if needed.
