New member here - wondering if anyone knows if DAP is still open or not? Emails to him are returned as non-deliverable. Hope nothing happened.

    Appreciate it.

    :notsure:

Lot of other great tuners on the forum that are active and have a good reputation, DAP really seemed to be hit or miss. @texasrho83 had DAP if I remember correctly

@JustDSM is from Overland Tune (https://www.tundras.com/search/7060943/?q=Ott&t=post&o=replies&c[title_only]=1)

@texoma does a lot of tuning (sorry I don't remember which one you do...)

There also is a Yotawerks Tune or something like that.

All 3 of those would be better options and you should be able to get a response and fine a tuners local to you as well.

Definitely appreciate that. I paid a decent amount for DAP, so I was hoping to at least find out if he's still around before spending another chunk of cash.

Overland tune is the way to go. I’ve had both yotawerx and OTT. OTT is much more refined.

Ah... didn't realize you already had his tune. Thought you were looking for one, hence listing 3 possible alternatives

Side question - I'm assuming the OTT tune compensates for tire size changes (shifting optimization), but does it re-calibrate the speedo as well? Thanks.

Unfortunately it does not recalibrate the speedometer to compensate for larger tires. At least not to my knowledge.

Ex-DAPper here. Shrek aka Dustin disappeared from the Tundra world and his comms went silent. I'm now a proud YotaWerx customer.

I don't know of any canned tune that can recalibrate the speedo.

Good to know, thanks. What made you go with the YW over others?

Mainly proximity and customer service. For example, the initial tune was not simple. My ECU has been replaced and had not been registered to the VIN (I think that's what he said) so their software wouldn't load the tune to it. They had to get it associated to my truck then load the tune (which can take some time). It was pretty close to 100° that day and we had zero shade. When I say we both left drenched, it's no B.S.

I also had him tune the catless CELs out and when I had a weird/hard shift start happening in the first 24 hours, he met up with me again to fine tune things. Ended up tipping the guy $50 for his trouble.

    YotaWerx has my vote.

Our calibration does factor in gearing/tire size, but it will not recalibrate the speedo. This is not possible from an ECU flash. The ABS ECU drives the speedometer via CAN-bus.

Thank you for the Tag. I do my own tuning and am not affiliated with a brand. I started off with my friend Brody of Downhill Dragon Tuning, and we still share tune files with each other, but I’ve since revised everything to my own. If you wanted to call it something, Triple C Chop Shop Performance Tune. I can also tune remotely as well, so although I don’t have a nationwide network of ECU flashers like OTT, Yotawerx, ect, I can operate nationwide. Ive also expanded into other makes since Toyota/Lexus competition in my area is pretty tight. Even though Toyota/Lexus is my specialty.

I’ve noticed that some Cal ID’s have a tire radius B which is measured in MM. Although I haven’t cared to notice a difference, I had one customer tell me his Speedo was reading exactly what his GPS was saying. Have you had anything like that? I thought it was strange that there were two tire conversions, so I always adjust both.

Yep, some will have 2 speed limiters as well. I'm not sure "why." It's all used for other functions, but sadly, it won't correct the speedo.

We need to find someone smart enough to figure out how to reflash the ABS control module to correct tire size. That would be a whole nother market.

more than I can list here
It’s not possible. The ecu doesn’t create the speedo signal. It only reads it and references it to make calculations.

(just read the rest of the thread. You know this LOL)
