Well it took a while to get the tundra home (I had a previous post about the blinker not working and dead battery) between the bank taking their time (they still haven’t cut a check and want weight info) and getting it into the shop to get fixed. Was a 20 min fix just took a bit to get in. Just a relay.

I’m really enjoying the truck and it is buttery smooth. However the other day I noticed a noise. Usually I have the stereo on and never noticed it before. Never heard it on the test drive but it is not that loud.

It only happens at low speed 25-30 or less(or I can’t hear it at higher speed because of road noise) and is pretty quiet until you know what to listen to. It happens when coasting and sounds to me like a backlash/gear noise. Most notable when coasting to a stop. Goes away under acceleration. Might be worse now because of cold weather. I checked temps with my hand of the gear case and diff and they felt fine (gear case warm, diff barely warm)
I put it in neutral and checked the backlash of the diff, felt normal not excessive. Not sure if I’m being paranoid or just normal truck noises. Anybody else have this? I took a video but it’s not letting me post it. Wrong format or something. I’ll see if I can get it on here.

    edit: I guess I should include it’s a 2018 SR5 5.7 with 68,000 miles
