I'm not even sure what breaking news is important anyway. After a quick google search, I gotta ask. Is it the upcoming tik tok ban? Is it the United healthcare ceo being shot and a suspect being named or is it that jay z is asking for a dismissal of the rape charges from his 13 year old (at the time) victim, if the victim will not be identified? Or last but not least, am I supposed to following the political scene to know what @GODZILLA meant? It actually pleases me that I'm so disconnected.

 

Some people think they are so smart they won't be caught even with all the evidence against them.

Nice. Figured that right after I posted and saw your response. That's definitely news that's worth spreading. I didn't even know jarred was murdered. But it does make me smile learning about it.

Yes. Bigger charge they were hung, so it was dismissed and they were told to go deliberate on the lesser charge separately. That was Friday and everyone was sent home. Today they took less than 2 hours to acquit the lesser charge. Not guilty, unanimously.

 

Oh, the shooter being found? That's good news as well, but when I posted I didn't know about it.

 

My pet peeve, which I'm sure will be an unpopular opinion, is this: hundreds of people are shot every day. But a few of them get a heck of a lot more media attention than all the others put together.

Eh, it makes sense for some. Lots of the shootings have an obvious or easily apprehended perp. Others (tons of them) are gang related and the community won't speak up, so coverage won't be getting any new leads.

This one had a plethora of info to show and all they needed was a tip to find him. It made sense to blast this one.


The coverage isn't an indicator of the importance. It's a tactic to solve it.

Maybe. When I was trying to read up on it, I had to flip back through a dozen stories to get to the original article about what actually happened.

yeah when I scanned for breaking news I read subway and Jordan but my mind thought of jarred from subway. My bad for the confusion. And I can honestly say that I don't know any of the details of why this penny guy killed Jordan on a subway. But I'll figure it out when I find the time to care. The picture and video were what was relevant. The media are vultures and will then run to be first with everything once a story exists. The point of the initial coverage was to get the pics out.
