Hopefully they can do something for you. I've not looked into any of the electrical connections for the camera or radar but if they're somewhat easily accessible I would disconnect the reconnect them to see if it's just a wonky connection. No guarantee but sometimes it's the simple things....

I found a manual supplement (online) specific to drive support systems only. At least from the doc, it's quite clear which camera is responsible for all the safety features, including adaptive cruise control.

Thanks for the information. It confirms what's been discussed earlier in this thread.

I'm sitting at the dealership as I type this, waiting for the diagnosis of my front camera malfunction. I've been here since 7:30 AM MST. I'm amazed at the steady and constant stream of vehicles going thru the service bays. Never seen the service waiting area this crowded. Not a good look for Toyota.

I've wondered about that myself. My dealer must have 40 bays. If Toyota is so reliable then why is the service area bigger than the sales area? There's usually 7 service writers with one or two people waiting at each (although I'm sure this isn't always the case). But these days not as many people work on their own cars as in the past so I'm sure that's a lot of it. Probably a lot of the folks in the waiting area are in for normal maintenance that they can't or won't do themselves. Hopefully they can resolve your issue.

Good luck! Hopefully, it's an easy fix. Keep us posted.

Well, after 3-1/2 hours at the dealership, they determined my front camera is faulty. Imagine that. :monocle: Of course, they didn't have the part in stock, so I'll have to waste another 1/2 day at the dealership when it arrives.

On the bright side, they did replace my broken seat panel under warranty, so there's that....

My 2020 Tundra is having the same issue, the Pre-Collision Malfunction warning light. It only comes on once I hit 10MPH. The cruise control works the same way, the cruise control light would come on like it's working, then shut off and say it's unavailable at the same 10MPH. I have Techstream and there are no codes. Any ideas? Anyway I can check that the front camera is working?

Sorry you have problems but this is (also) wrong forum to complain about it, no?

Ooops, I didn't notice it was in the 2022 forum, I found this thread based on an internet search. Thanks for the heads-up

This seems to be a common problem even with the 2nd gen trucks. Some people thought it was because of their lift kits but other are having issue with stock trucks.

Mine also does this randomly at times but turns off pretty quickly or if I restart the truck. I mentioned it to the dealer but of course since it wasnt on when i went in they couldnt diagnose it.

FWIW, my service rep said front camera failures were pretty common across several Toyota models, not just Tundras.

They did not have to see the warning message displayed to diagnose and commit to replacing the camera on my '23 truck. I just have to wait for the part to arrive, then waste another 1/2 day at the dealership waiting for it to be fixed.

Mine isnt so much the front camera, more so the front radar system precollision warning....

My front camera malfunction disables the pre-collision system, as well as the adaptive radar cruise, so it's all related in my case.

I thought I'd put a bow on this thread in case anyone has similar problems.

My dealership finally replaced the faulty front camera today. It took them about 3-1/2 hours (after telling me it would only take 1-1/2 hours).

The good news is, I'm no longer getting the "Front Camera Not Available" error message every 10 minutes, like I was before. The problem appears to be fixed...at least for now.

I recently bought a '23 1794 and I am having this same issue. Just curious if you know exactly what camera they replaced and if the problem is fixed still or not.

It was the front camera that's in front of the rearview mirror. So far, replacing it has fixed the problem.

    Good luck
