So I jumped the gun and said the new truck passed with flying colors…

As I made the trip home, I noticed the drivers door began to rattle when any bass was playing. Whether the volume was at 10 or 40, it rattles an insane amount. If I roll the window down, it stops.
I’m taking it in Tuesday to the local dealer but wondered if anybody else experienced this?

Yup. Your solutions are to either turn the bass down, or tear the door panel off and put sound deadening material in between.

Unfortunately, all of the plastic and trim pieces on these vehicles are incredibly flimsy and cheap. Mine is not even a year old, has 15,000 miles, and rattles like Grandpa’s old C10 that spent its entire life on dirt roads.

    Nothing.
I was annoyed as hell by this when I got my truck and now, months later, I never hear it. Not sure if the rattle worked itself out or I'm just deaf to it but I suggest giving it a little time to see if yours "goes away" like mine seems to have.

I brought this up to my dealer yesterday at my 5k service. They blamed my lift and tires. I told them it’s been there since the day I drove it off the lot. They said too bad now that it has a lift and tires.

My rattle issue was the felt pad in the bottom of the door pull. I used double sided tape to stop the pad from rattling when the volume was cranked.

This comment lived in my brain today as I drove around. For a second, I thought it was gone. I think something is seriously wrong with mine though because it’s so loud it overpowers the music. The rest of the truck rattles as anything would with the music cranked, but this is much different.

I also had a rattle, and I traced it to the piece of plastic behind the interior door handle. These sit in there loose. They can be popped out and addressed. They will swell up in the summer when it's really hot and the rattle will go away without tightening them up, but otherwise they are too loose.

I have the OEM lift and AT tires and had a similar issue. Mine was behind the handle near the rear of the arm rest. Dealer heard it while I played music at a fairly low level and they were able to fix it.

My advice is try the removing the piece behind the door handle as others referenced then try another dealer.

My driver door rattle was a wiring harness and the clips weren’t properly (from the “factory”)secured in the punch outs in the inner skin of the door. Snapped them into place, and the rattle was gone for good.

Update, took the truck in for the second time now and they are ordering a new speaker. They also replaced the tail light assembly due to an insane squeak you could hear driving down the road.

speaker “should be here in a couple of weeks”.

    stay tuned !

Try another dealership. And then after they fix it, make sure to tell the original dealership they lost your business for good.
