My kid just brought the 2013 Tundra back from school for Thanksgiving and after a brief inspection I noticed by the rear passenger door the paint is cracking big time. Is this normal? The truck was not hit or anything. How much is this gonna cost me to fix it :(

You’re going to find some bondo under there. That was a poorly done body repair.

I've only seen that after accident damage is improperly repaired. Is there body filler under that paint? Test it for magnetism and if you have a paint depth gauge, use that too. Regardless, it'll need to be ground down to bare metal and repainted. The cost to fix it varies wildly based on your location and who is doing the work, but it looks to be a relatively small and simple area.

Man, I don't recall this truck being in an accident. I need to ask my wife. She did hit one of my brand new truck, I don't know if it was this one or the truck before this. Can't remember but it might've been this one. I need to look the records up for sure.

Even if she didn’t, lots of new cars get hit before delivery. They are not required to disclose such damages or repairs.

Go ahead and grab a magnet and poke about with it. Alternately just chip a chunk off, as it’s going to have to come off anyway.

If that’s a repair that you had done, take it back to the body shop that did the work and show them what happened. They might have a warranty on their work. Even if they don’t, I would argue they should fix it depending on how long ago this damage occurred.
