Just installed an amp and an lc7i. I have no power to the lc7i. Do I need to use the remote in wire on lc7i? If so what do I connect it to?

Yes, you should wire the “remote in” to a power source that is energized when the stereo is on. Keyed ignition is fine, but there is likely a tap harness available that may simplify things.

If you want to quickly make sure the thing just works, you can jumper between the 12V+ and remote in. If that doesn’t turn into, you have another problem. Use a test light or multi-meter to verify that you have power to the LC7i.

    What year is your truck?
If it has a separate stock amp, there will be a remote lead on it.

Post what year the truck is and if it has JBL, and I'll look it up, or you can find it here..

After reading the manual if the GTO is enabled, the speaker signal should turn the unit on.
With that, you should't need a remote in.

Did you buy the Lc7i new or used?
If used you may need to check the internal jumpers and see what the settings are.

I used a Lc6i but ultimately ended up replacing the OEM HU for an aftermarket..

I got it working. Used the remote in from lc7i to the red wire on the new auto house harness. Now just have to mess with the settings to make it sound better. Just bought new component speakers for front. Deciding on rear and dash any recommendations?
