Their response to me was too bad so sad.

I’ll definitely send my dollars to a competitor next time. 3 years from date of order was 9/30/24.

I was about to buy a 2000w setup for the new fridge / freezer - glad this shit happened before I sent them another $1,400.

Shop around; good day for it. Anker F2000 looks decent from cursory review.

PPS: can’t believe how cheap LifePO batteries are going for. $150 for 100ah is nuts. Might be time to upgrade so I can run a welder instead of just a vacuum pump

The 5 year warranty on Anker is tempting. I have some stuff from them that’s been trouble free…

I bought an Anker C1000 when they first came out and it blows my Jackery 500 out of the water. C1000 charges super quick via AC, and you can fast charge them in the truck using DC-to-DC converter if you want. Most of their line is on sale currently. I bought a C300DC on this sale to try out, have been eyeing it for awhile.

So I am considering purchasing the C1000 but buying two 100w solar panels instead of one 200w panel. Can you charge the C1000 with two 100w panels at the same time?

Yes. I run two 100w portable panels into mine in parallel. The Anker C1000 is rated 11-32v at 10A input, or 32v-60v at 12.5A.

So one more email bitching to them about denying a warranty claim over being one week late being BS got them to change course. They sent me a return label and it sounds like they’ll replace the solar panel. I’ll take it.

How well do their solar panels work? I have a different brand panel and battery. Seems like anything less than bright direct full midday sun doesn't do much for my panels.

I don’t have anything to compare to - in bright sunshine I’d see around 80 watts. It would taper off from there depending on cloud cover / angle.

I pulled the trigger on the Anker C1000 - one for me and one for each of my daughters and their families. We shall see but with the hurricanes (although not close) it seems like a wise survival purchase.

That's not too bad. Even if it took an extra email, you're getting a panel replaced out of warranty.

I, too, don't have any other brand to compare solar panels against, but I do have both the 100W and 200W panels. Heck, I even got a 60W back when they still offered those to use as a window shade...that was a waste. It didn't fit like I had hoped and didn't put out much power. There is a reason they don't offer that unit any longer.

That said, I prefer the 100W panels. They are easier to setup and you can connect a USB cable to them directly. Plus they are lighter and thinner. That said, if you need the extra juice, the higher output of the 200W is nice.

Roughly 80% of the advertised wattage is about what you should expect from any brand. This degrades over time, so might be higher when new and lower when about to bite the dust.

Replacement solar panel showed up this afternoon just in time for the boat race this weekend. This new one has been redesigned since the original unit I sent back - I’m happy they stepped up and warrantied the panel after three years. The redesign seems to have addressed the problem I had by removing the charge ports / control unit away from the solar panel so it’s better protected from elements.
