I wanted to get a video out there to hopefully help more people tackle this job. It's really not too bad, and knowing is half the battle.

 

If you have not read it, search for the thread about the rodents in the HVAC that nearly killed a member here. Long story short, dude apparently had parasites consuming him because he regularly inhaled mouse droppings while driving. Serious problem for sure!!! Don't procrastinate folks it might kill you!

Adopting stray cats. Feed them once and they'll handle the rodents.

 

Get a Tomcat, feed him close to your truck...cat piss is the best deterrent...rodents don't fly.

 

On top of doing this, I found having mouse "buckets" to catch the ones even coming close has been a big help. With the two combined I haven't had mice in months.

I park outside, right next to the forrest and live rurally. So I am prime mice target.

 

Some pissy cat pisses on my truck usually ends very badly for the cat.

Train your mousies well, then. Wood rats are obstinate & piss worse than Tomcats.

 

Oh, well I tend to politely shoo the neighbour cats. Rats get subsonic .22 hollowpoint or shotshell endings. So far 300+
and counting. The number deceased due to upset stomach and bad food ingestion is somewhat vague. I've used 3" mag
12Ga on the underground nests, but that takes serious digging speed and only when I didn't have my terriers to help.
Norway rats, wow! So tough and they do attack and fight back. Glad they are gone.

 

Fuck that. I am not a fan of cats in general but even less so of stray or feral ones. I much prefer the birds, reptiles and amphibians that they kill. When hunting, any feral cat gets dispatched immediately.
