Ordered this and is due in today. I want to monitor transmission temp in numbers at minimum. I’m looking to tow my travel trailer for several years yet, and I will install an external cooler after the recall is completed. I’m curious where people have mounted this. I did purchase a phone mount that attaches to the infotainment screen to try it for a mount.

Thanks in advance for your inputs,
    Mike

There have been several threads about this that you might find with a search. Also, several of us have the ScanGauge 2 that can also report trans and oil temps and is small enough to conveniently mount on the steering column.

Wondering if the Scangauge II or III shows charging and discharging rates and level for the hybrid?

Thanks for the inputs. I was aware of the SG2, but wanted to have more options available at once. To keep an open list of monitoring at once.

I found this on Amazon and am going to try it.

You can turn the mount 90 degrees and should hold the SC3. I will update how this goes.

    Factory installed self-destruct device :D
I have it sitting temporarily on top of the left dash vent, and just under the A pillar grab handle.

This didn't work out BTW... The scanguage connection in the back is a CAT5 connector. It is completely blocked by the mount in either direction where the slides for expanding are at. I had ordered a couple more mounting ideas, of which one arrived today. This here...

So far, my initial mock up this evening looks to be a for sure winner. It is rock solid and seems extremely rugged. I will look to most likely perform my install tomorrow and not wait for the other option I found as this seems to be very keepable.

I will post pictures when finished,
    Mike

Finished with the install this morning. Fairly easy overall.

Had to remove the accessory tray behind the infotainment screen, and secured the mount u it into it. The kit came with everything needed to install. (Actually parts was off and only 4, instead of the 5 needed screws, washers and Nyla-nuts). There was a drill bit for the screws, a Phillips screwdriver and wrench to tighten these down. A mini lug wrench type tool to tighten the ball mounts to the frame when location was set. Directions were clear and easy to follow.

This is a very nice system. Yes, a little pricey for my liking overall. But it is exactly what I was looking for and did the job perfectly.

I really like this configuration. I did have to call Scangauge to figure out what I was too dumb to realize by not reading the directions. I had to go to setup and scan for Xgauge parameters, select all and save them. Then the transmission temp was available.

    Here are the pics promised.
