Hey everyone! I’ve been lurking here a bit and thought I would make an account. After getting rid of my 2014 ram 1500 tradesman I upgraded to a 2024 Tundra Sr5 in blue print. I love the truck so far it is a huge upgrade from what I came from. I love fishing and this truck pulls my boat no issues. My dog also loves the back window going down. Hell, my wife even approves of the purchase!IMG_2024-10-21-075723.jpg

    Welcome from San Diego!

When I had my 1st gen AC I was always envious of those with the roll down back window.

Now when I'm in front of those poor bastards in Ford, GM, Ram at a light sometimes I'll drop the window for some air.

So these pictures are from the day we picked Sadie up from an adoption event.

She was a street dog in Baja, and a little nervous about getting in my truck. I cracked the back window and she was like "Whoa, this is cool, he's got a Tundra... alright then!"

    Thanks guys!
My dog was also a rescue. He was a feral dog down in North Carolina. Was in a kill shelter and rescued by a dog rescue up here. Poor guy was heart worm positive skin and bones. He’s still a very easy stressed dog but, he’s great!IMG_8518.jpg

Well sure he's stressed, he's got spiders and bats around his neck!:rofl:Good lookin' dog...

I'm a sucker for crooked floppy ears, that's how Sadie won me over! Wife was working on me for like a year, but I was playing the hardass 'cuz we already had two dogs...

Then she showed me the adoption pic and I was done.

    IMG_5593.jpg

Diego (the black one) was also a stray in Mexico and he was skin and bones... that condition doesn't last long in our house.

It's really gratifying to see a stressed out rescue start to trust and watch their true nature start shining through. Well done sir.

You have some great looking dogs! We have had him about 2.5 years. Still hates loud cars, gunfire, etc. he will still get scared. He is on medication that takes some of the edge off. his happy spot is in his home, his truck or his boat. He loves chasing bunnies in the yard. Thankfully, my yard is just big enough he can get some good speed going but, small enough the rabbits almost always get away and under the fence.

You're giving him his best life... good human.

I'd say the prescription for him is large and frequent doses of truck, boat, and bunnies.

By the way, when I read your thread title... "A Tundra, a boat, and a dog." I knew I was gonna' like this thread. :D

Glad to have you in the group.

He is never more excited in the world than when he knows I’m pulling the boat out of the garage! He even sleeps in the boat while I fishIMG_8482.jpg

Awwwww!! It don't get much better than that!

What are you fishin' for mostly?

We have some good Bass lakes here in San Diego.

I used to hit it pretty hard but have more hobbies than time lately. I told myself that I'm making a point to get back into it in 2025.

I had never seen a Tradesman till now. Comes in single and Qaudcab...interested to to know aside from the obvious QC differences how did the 4 door Dodge differ from a Crewmax ?
Interior and power wise if it was a 5.7 Hemi.

I used to mainly fish for musky. Now I am pretty much just bass fishing. Mainly for small mouth on the river.

I had the quad cab. It had a 6ft bed. It was a no frills decent truck all around. Basically think the step above a bare bones worktruck. Bench seat with a flip down middle console. Over all I really liked the truck. Never had many issues with it. Obviously there is way more technology in my Tundra.

The back seat area in the tundra is a lot more room. The front seats compared to my old truck looked cramped but, even my dad who is over 6ft said it’s not cramped at all it’s an illusion.

The tundra rides way quieter than my ram did. I think my ram had a slightly tighter turning radius. The tundra feels much better at speed handling.

I had the 3.6 v6 Penastar. So my tundra has way more power and towing capacity.

It's a big truck I can't imagine a 4 door full size truck with a V6 3.6 liter engine. I wonder what real world mpg was.
Going to 5.7 Tundra must have felt like a Rocket for sure. It did for me. I sold my
2.7 4cyl auto Tacoma and jumped into this 5.7 apartment on wheels/ rocket ship Crewmax. I love it, even with 240k it rides awesome the nicest truck I've ever had . More power than I'll ever use
I drive solely on pavement & work 12 miles away. Otherwise I probably couldn't afford the fuel. But I'm good for now.
