Still have the factory alternator installed in my 04 DC. When under the truck yesterday working on some power steering stuff, I noticed the bearings in the alternator are getting pretty noisy. Doesn't seem like I trust the rebuild kits I see (suspect Chinese junk), but would like to replace the bearings with quality ones. Thinking NSK/NTN? Suggestions?

    Thanks much.

May have answered my own question. Looks like these two:
    90068-10142
    90099-10140

Can someone please confirm? Also, any decent alternative to these two?

All the OEM alternators I opened had KOYO bearings.

    Thanks.
Ultimately, I just want quality that lasts - like the original. It's going on 20 years+. I don't particularly care about "lifetime warranties" or "it's an easy job so you can just swap it in 3 years." Just want quality and willing to pay for it. Hate cheap shit....

I’d replace the alternator then rebuild the old one then save for a rainy day. I’d either get the 130A tow pkg Denso alternator whose part number ends in 1065 or the 150A Sequoia alternator that ends in 1066. DENSO is OEM.

Sounds good. Looks like RA has the 130A in stock. Thanks

Are these DENSO alternators actually remanufactured by DENSO at one of their owned facilities or are they reworked by various suppliers, resellers, and vendors that have contracts with the seller (RA, LAPS, etc.). Seems like the build quality would be all over the place if not actually performed by DENSO.

This release from Denso would suggest, in fact, Denso does reman all of their alternators and starters (specifically) in-house, at DPAM in Temecula CA: https://www.denso.com/us-ca/en/history/history-stories/reman/

Other articles I found online said there are cases they outsource remanufacture of internal components. Like, for example, with their deisel injectors, they procure some internal parts pre-manufactured from someone else, to add into their part, and they send those bits back to be reman'd by the OEM of that sub-part before they reman the overall part. But that's a part for EU market, not N. America.

They may not do this for other regions, or for other internal mechanical remanufacturable parts, but they're saying they do reman directly for N. America on starters and alternators.
