Yes! My son has one and mine was just ordered. Having both, the FMS is a better platform out of the box vs the TRX4M.

    upload_2024-11-16_8-37-37.jpg

I also couldn’t resist and ordered one of these for $99 USD.

My son doesn’t know I ordered them. It will take some time to get with the postal strike in Canada but it will be some great winter fun.

Oh my!!!!!! The FedEx dude showed up this evening and then our daughter came over. Something was up. So she opens the box and says this is my Christmas present!!
It was awfully nice of her but I do not understand why she did this to me!!! HA!! Of course I read the book and will charge the batteries, daughter wants to see it running tomorrow. This thing is a lot bigger than it looks like on TV and is a pretty amazing piece of technology. Weighs a fair amount, everything is metal.
Going to be fun operating this one! :)

Daughter came over yesterday early evening to see the Moto MX roll. In the matter of hours I had a time keeping that thing upright and rolling again! So it is going to take some time getting used to it and how it maneuvers. After a few spills I made a couple good passes, I will go to the big parking lot at the fair grounds this weekend and get some practice in and maybe a video too.
The crazy thing was cars were coming home early evening and I would have to get it out of the road, but one time there were a couple cars and they actually stopped right by our driveway and wanted to see that motorcycle go up and down the street a couple times (plus a couple spills in the process). They couldn't get over how detailed it was and were amazed the way it looked coming at them in the street. They got a big kick out of it and stayed a bit talking to our daughter. LOL! :)

I had my Kraton 6S out a few months ago when a lady and her husband came by on a golf cart. He was eyeing it like a kid in a candy store. Her dumb ass made the comment to me "Your'e an adult playing with a kids toy?". I've never even see this lady before but I wanted to pop her in the throat lol. I told her that it was not a toy and that I would smoke her golf cart. They left and I let them get down the street and then flew around them. I could hear the tires and him saying "Jesus Christ". I wonder if he bought one and is still married LOL. Now i want to go home and get all of mine out lol.

I love that it brings people of all ages together. Last time I had the Blazer at the canal I had a guy walk up and ask me about it then tell me stories about his real K5 that he used to run in a stadium truck series in the 80s

    hey fellas,

any recommendations for something for my 8 year old son for Christmas, he likes monster trucks and buggy type ones.

I got him this almost a year ago and it just now crapped out, the gear box is slipping. I got it on sale for 75 bucks, and I have to say, it really took a beating and lasted for that money.

    ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title

Im looking maybe $150 or under for a budget

thanks if there are any recommendations.

Not the most up to date or fastest, but I got my son a tamaya frog as a project. It was fun and cool as you need to build it like a model.

How about an 80 series Land Cruiser? This is the best 1/18 scale for the price. We have two.

    https://www.fmshobby.com/products/fms-1-18-fcx18-lc80-toyota-land-cruiser-80-rtr

Otherwise for a monster truck, go with a Traxxas TRX4M.

are these these just for crawling or are they fast at all? don't need record breaking speed but just no idea how they are

thanks for the suggestion, these look good. Looks like they come with everything you need to let rip right away

Most of the FMS stuff is 2 speed. You get a high which will be a little faster than a walking pace and a low range which is pretty slow but never gets stuck.
The K5 is by far my favorite crawler out of the 4 I have with the disco and the LC80 at a tossup for 2nd place.

    thanks,

so yo have to buy the battery and charger right?

to my understanding the Traxxas charger and battery is the way to go for safety etc, is there a place to get that setup with out costing as much as the car ? lol

or is that stuff they have as "add" right there ok? don't want to burn down my garage. Im a flashaholic so Im used to battery stuff and know not to go too cheap with that stuff.

again, thanks for the help guys, hes going to be stoked.

The gorgon is a great entry level truck. It'll take whatever beating they can throw at it.

Yes for that truck. I have Traxxas and Arrma stuff. I have never had any issues with any of their stuff to include batteries or chargers. Do you have any local hobby shops? Some of them will give you descent bundle pricing.

I really like arrma toughness. Traxxas discontinued the old stampede that was great for kids
