So, I had been driving my 2022 Limited double cab long bed in ECO mode a lot. Once in ECO mode it stays. Same with the normal mode. I decided to start driving in sport mode to have a quicker umph when I want it. I have to rotate to sport mode every start up. Is there a way to set it to default to sport at start up?

Speaking of that, does it actually accelerate faster in sport mode or is there just less lag? I like eco for the slower acceleration with cruise control. Not sure how much it helps mpg though, and sometimes it slowly speeds up just to slam on the brakes when it finally catches up with the car in front!

Mine will stay in eco mode or normal mode after restarting. But, to go to sport mode you have to do it manually.

I made a CUSTOM config Drive Mode. And each time on restarting, I have to manually dial to the CUSTOM mode. Seems it defaults to NORMAL. From the conversations here, seems this is normal also..?? Disappointing.
    ■Automatic deactivation of driving
    modes:
Driving mode is deactivated or the
driving mode will be changed to normal
    mode in the following conditions:
●After turning the power switch off
and then turning it to on
    ●When the front-wheel drive control
switch is in “4L” (4WD models
    only)
    ●When the Multi-terrain Select is
    turned on (if equipped)
    ●When the Downhill assist control
system is turned on (if equipped)
●When the “TOW HAUL” mode or
“TOW+” mode is turned on (if
    equipped)
