Drew — just ran across this thread coincidently. Feeling great about my Alpha order today (Frank in VA). Thanks for the help and patience. Might circle back with some lighting questions (gonna stick with all black rack for although the TRD pro red accent was a great idea).

For any others following thread, customer service and advice (and honesty) doled out by UpTop is EXCEPTIONAL. I’ll post up some pics after install.

 

Hi! Drew, I’m so sorry for all the questions through email, but very glad I found you guys.

For anyone looking how things match up, I recently purchased the Truck2Go E-Power retractable tonneau cover for my 2017 Platinum CrewMax and trying to see how things match with bed bars. The tonneau cover is essentially a rebrand of Synetic, or at least that’s what I’ve read and hear the box that arrives is labeled with Synetic.

I was interested mostly in the KB Voodoo bars (either HiRise or ProX) or the UpTop Tress Bar kit. The 4” height and look of the UpTop bars are big reasons why, and another huge factor was that KB Voodoo offered only $20 off, and the UpTop folks had a Memorial Day sale that knocked off 90 bucks, and were already cheaper. I love the look of KB Voodoo and thought I was set on them, but this price point caught my eye and I think I now prefer UpTop’s look.

Ok, so an issue with Truck2Go is that they don’t have a lot of information on what racks hook up well to their product, and most guys making bars/racks also don’t have much info on Truck2Go. I’m told it’ll be about 4 weeks or so before I get my bars, and the tonneau is gonna be here and getting installed next week. I plan to update this post with how well they work together and any, if at all, adjustments needed to make them work together.

Great news! Today I picked up my hardware sent to me from the good folks at UpTop Overland. I found that the hardware works really well with the T slot tracks on the Truck2Go and SyneticUSA retractable covers! I haven’t yet received the bars themselves, I asked for the hardware early to assess compatibility. I will try to remember to come back and post all my pics from the bed cover, bed bars, and ultimately whichever RTT I go with. My goal is to get a hardshell one that doesn’t hang off the end of my CrewMax bed, which really limits my options. So far I’ve really like the Tuff Stuff Alpha II. Really stout, lots of room once it folds out.
