I have never been rich or famous but I'm perplexed at how some of these guys end up broke. Not all of them but I expect someone like Tyson to surrounded himself with better people after getting fleeced by the likes of Don King. I hope for his sake he isn't broke again now.

I grew up loving boxing - probably because my dad loved it. We watched every match that was on - they were all on free TV. I (audio) taped the Spinks/Ali rematch. I watched Leonard and Haggler, and followed the better boxers through the mid 70's through the mid 90's.

But all I'm hoping for out of the match tonight is Tyson losing his shit and biting off a piece of Paul's ear.

 

For me it's not about the FU to my father. It's about being there for my girls as a figure they can look up to instead of hate.

 

I'm in this same boat. My mother loved boxing and I've seen so many good fights with icons of the sport through the same time period. This fight isn't about anything other than the hope you outlined. Crossing my fingers Tyson doesn't follow any script if there is one.

 

I think he'll follow the script. His comp is probably predicated on it. He'll more than double his net worth, even after paying everyone he has to pay, and that'll drive him to perfect sanity during the bout.

Already done with this task. Oh wait I never took them down from last year. I just unplugged them. I'll likely set my timer starting the day after Thanksgiving and run it through Dec 31. Jan first the timer gets unplugged and put away but the lights stay up year round. Heathen like, I know. seems like @Cpl_Punishment also knows how to handle this one.
