Hey all, I just picked up a set of these steelies off of an 04 Tundra for a great price ($50 for all 4 plus the spare) and they came with decent tires to boot.
I’m thinking about painting them but I’m trying to find examples of these specific wheels painted to help me decide if I want to keep the stock silver, or paint them black. If anyone has painted these wheels, I would greatly appreciate you posting some pictures to give me an idea of how they turned out.

*I found the pic online, the ones I picked up don’t have nearly as much rust

I have no pics but stock silver will be your easiest time

Dad repainted these wheels on his truck and they look brand new

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
Pics self explanatory. Number your balancing weights and their locations, then pull them. Just does a nicer job. I treated the rust , then sprayed/brushed in some black on the back sides.
Scrape in those outer seams with a razor or pic where the two parts of the rim come together, and soak it in there with the rust treatment before painting.
Very happy with the Rust-Oleum wheel paint. BUT, wear a mask! I did it in the sunlight and the amount of metallic flake floating in the air from that paint was insane.
    Good luck

This steel wheel would look way better with either no center cap, or a different type. That center cap looks like it should be on a 2002 Toyota Sienna

I had several 77-90 years Toyota trucks and used the Rustoleum wheel paint on the ones that had steelies with excellent results.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully both of our lucks improve in the future, haha

Could have been way worse, this was after 2.5+ hours of driving and right after I got out of a canyon with some steep downhill grades and drop offs that were a long ways down.

Definitely counting blessings on this one and sent out a prayer or two for good measure.

    None at the moment
Keep them stock silver or flat black. The latter would be easiest to future touch up though because the black over spray will blend in on the tires better than silver. Either way the biggest thing here is prep work. More prep today = less issues tomorrow. Best of luck.

With any steelies I've ever had, I went with flat black, easy to touch up and holds up well.

A professionally done Revelations themed build would be crazy. Anytime I see someone with Bible verses on their vehicle they’re always hand painted in dollar store acrylic though, haha
