Hello. We have purchase a brand new 1794 we absolutely love the way it rides the look of it interior and all the amenities that come with it. One thing we've noticed. Is there something wrong with the shifting? It almost sounds like it's slipping or feels like it also has a weird sound like a bad brake pad would have At times whenever we turn only, sometimes, it will shift down very funny. Also, sometimes it'll clunk into gear. Not super hard, but noticeable enough to wear is not normal. Anybody else having these issues like this? This truck only has around seven hundred miles on it at the moment

What kind of vehicle did you have before? I've driven a couple dozen since the release and thought the same thing at first. Seems to just be the way they drive.

Give it time, my 24 Limited is the first 10spd. And Toyota truck transmission I've had and is definitely "different". Just need to get used to it, there's a warranty if something happens.

Ok it just downshift harder than I would expect and kinda slips, as I'm giving it gas. I've never been hard on it yet. At all, I've only got 700 miles on it, but it is a great truck. It is a little different. I actually like the way it shifts very smoothly. When it does work as it should just the downshifting, and then slipping in the gear feeling you got me curious as to why

Mine got better as I put some more miles on it (it does learn your driving habits over time). I think you learn how to drive it to minimize the weird downshifts as well.

Sometimes what you’re feeling is the torque converter. If it’s annoying you can put it in sport mode for different shift points and putting it in S (shift limiter mode) also seems to limit the slip feeling you’re talking about.

pretty standard for Toyota trucks these days. When I bought my 3rd gen Tacoma it also did weird clunky downshifts but ran like a top until I traded it in with 144k

Sounds about right, because I only drive it in Eco. At the moment, maybe that's why I'll have to see what you're talking about. Put it in normal and see if it still does it also in sport as well? How do you wanna go through it before a 1000 miles? I haven't driven it since I posted this message. So maybe I will take it for a ride tomorrow and go through the gears and settings and stuff like that

eco has the least desirable shift points and in my experience I get no different MPG whether in Eco or Sport

I just did a gear change from 2h to 4h to 4 L definitely something funky here in reverse it struggles to move it does not change the way it shifts still off and when down shifting on it own it does harder then I believe it should definitely not normal there is something wrong with the hybrid version of the 1794 and other 2024 tundra transmission some i have found that are like mine still being reported also my crash detection is very hard to get it to clear once I fill my tank had a check engine light come on some parking error code they cleared it and when they did that my fuel was at a quarter tank then after it reads full sp a little update I'll be contacting toyota Corp to see if they can just swap me out ?
