I'm starting my own thread just on my installation to keep the existing thread decluttered. If I learn anything useful, then I'll add it to the instructional thread with instructions.

The guy that did this originally had an 04 tundra, and apparently my floor board is a little different

From what I can tell so far, I don't need to cut the plastic on the bottom so the latches will fit and connect to the floor. Maybe the openings were smaller in that year? I'll soon find out for sure

On my floorboard, there appears to be one location in the floorboard for the latch for each seat. In the sequoia, there are two latches for each seat. The original member, as I recall, had two on the passenger side, but only one on the driver's side

In his install, he modified the unusable latch so that it had an adjustable leg to add stability. my perfectionistic self would love to be able to modify the floor so that all four latches would be available.

as best I can tell that part of the floorboard where the strike plate is located, for lack of the appropriate term, is not directly connected to the floorboard support frame.

My question is: could you cut 2 of those strike plates out of a tundra or sequoia floorboard and weld them into the appropriate location on mine?

i'm sure there is a low probability anyone here has dealt with the floorboard unless possibly they were swapping frames

if nothing else I would prefer to cut the floorboard so that the existing latch would not have to be removed. When I removed the grommet at the bottom of the concave part of the floorboard for the strike plate, I believe what I see is the floorboard support frame. And there is a gap between it and the floorboard I could provide extra support for stability differently than he did if needed. I would then of course need to come up with something to seal the floorboard but that shouldn't be too hard

i've already taken a quick look at the console for what it's worth and the way it is designed I should be able to install 3 nut serts in the floorboard and be good to go. It's designed so that whole locking mechanism is above the full board and a simple add on

    edit: damn I'm long winded
