Interesting that Honda is only inspecting and replacing "as needed".

Saw this too. Article states one accident and fortunately no injury. That said, for Toyota and Honda it only takes one and the lawsuits will start. You just hope it isn't you. Between the air bags sending shards of metal into the driver, Transmissions shifting to low gear at hwy speeds, engines grenading while driving might as well just add a sticker to the door pillar with the rest that say "Drive at your own risk"

Think I will start a car company and build a vehicle will all the latest technology , gobs of plastic, the cheapest parts to maximize the greatest profit and name it the Asp after the movie Indiana Jones. It will display a sticker on the door pillar that states proudly "Asp" very dangerous! "YOU GO FIRST"

I'll tell you what else they're having trouble with - the electric cars they developed with GM. I have a buddy that works at an Acura parts dept - he said they are ordering batteries left and right at a cost of $18K each due to failure after failure. They should have taken the time to make their own good stuff - oh well reputation takes another hit for both GM and Honda.

    Lots of stuff!
Sort of a strange coincidence that the V6 engines are made in Alabama as well as the Tundra engines? My guess is industrial sabotage by one or all of the big 3 ;)

Not even a 'new' engine - its been around since the mid-90s. Clearly not the same Honda of old.

Was shopping for a car for one of my boys and inquired to an ad for an Accord V6. I was aware of the issue with excessive oil consumption possibility due to the cylinder deactivation.
Met the young gal that was selling it, no service history. Popped the hood, checked the oil and the dipstick was dry. I showed it to the seller and told her it was a hard pass for me, but there was a convenient store within sight and we both drove there. I had her buy 2 quarts, added them and had some oil on the dipstick. Had her buy 1 more and that put the level mid-range.
Based on roughly a 5 quart capacity for that engine, it was running on 2 quarts.
