Hey guys! I recently bought a 2006 DC 4x4 and it is a great truck. I bought the truck with some keys and key fobs, but they didn't seem to get a response from the truck, I ordered some new ones (with matching codes) and attempted to program the remotes to the truck. I failed, and set the alarm off. With no remotes there doesn't seem to be anyway to disable the alarm. I unhooked the horn and ungrounded the system, which allows me to drive it. Any input on how to reset/replace the alarm system? Cheap is best, but i want to be able to lock from a key fob.

First off, you need to understand two things:
    1. Some DC had different programming instructions than others, so what you see on YouTube may not work for your truck, it depends.
    2. Some dealers and regional entities installed aftermarket alarm systems BEFORE sale, such as KARR and SECURIKEY+, and the programming info (and fobs) for those are different also.
    What should you do?

Before anything else, look under the driver side of the dash for any clear signs of wire splices, T-taps, and other hacky bullshit the dealerships used to install those craptastic ass alarms I mention in #2. Just to rule out it's not your case.

If you're simply a case of #1 above, before you start I'm going to warn you, not only is having the correct programming method needed, but your timing needs to be pretty on-point, where you're completing the steps with a rhythm, a cadence, each step within a 1 second window. It always takes me 3-4 tries to get that shit right.

For what programming methods exist for DC trucks specifically, see the "Electrical stuff ... and keys" section of in the 1st reply of THIS THREAD. It will give you ALL the info you should need.

Oh - and if you enter programming mode, but it won't let you add a key fob, you may need to issue the command to clear all previous fobs. Some of these trucks had a limit on the number of fobs it could remember.

In case it's not clear, the section of that thread I'm telling you is important is in RED TEXT here, try those instructions first, then click the link just before that red text and download the RS3200 manual, try the programming entry sequence inside it:
    • For OEM keyless/security, earlier trucks used Toyota's RS3000 alarm/keyless system, which had a limit of 4 simultaneously programmed remotes, and providing no warnings if you wanted to program a 5th fob. Later models used the RS3200 system. RS3000 is a bitch to program. RS3200 is much easier, but some Double Cab and potentially Sequoia used immobilizer keys, and a different programming process than you may find elsewhere online. Manuals for the RS3000 and RS3200 systems can be found here, and the 'special' programming instructions for some Double Cab found here. Always enter programming mode to 'clear' all previously programmed remotes before trying to add new ones, so you don't hit the 4 remote control limit! You can absolutely program new remotes on your own, there's a thread about RS3000 units here (since it's so difficult but read the whole thread), RS3200 programming is here.
