In WA, it’s pretty damn difficult. And the state keeps adding more bullshit that 1. Requires HOA for new subdivisions as well as 2. Adds more shit to the requirements the HOA must include (like incorporating as a non-profit, holding a certain amount of funds in reserve, reporting full address info on all board members).

I’ve been trying to dissolve our HOA for 15 years… can’t even get enough people to give a shit to vote.

I’m on 5 acres and still have one. Been here 19 years this month.
But we’re one of those HOA’s where the only thing we exist to do is maintain the ~1mile gravel private road that serves our properties. Outside of that, don’t piss off your neighbors, and if you do, the HOA isn’t going to do anything about it anyway…take that up with your neighbors yourself.

If I ever leave this place, it will be for minimum 20 acres with adjoining NF or BLM land and no shared private roads.

 

Just worth researching a little what the HOA laws are in that other state to be sure.

 

That's been my dream for a long time. Some acreage with fertile soil where I can plant some fruit trees, small private range out to 100ish yards, etc... Unfortunately health issues will keep me tethered to areas with more extensive medical care so it will be a dream I don't think I will ever realize barring winning a lottery jackpot.

Pretty much every man I know only goes to hot springs because their women do. It was an outdoor facility so not really a spa or hot tub but same difference. Hanging out in man made pools with strangers.
