    IMG_8153.jpgGood morning fellas,
It’s time to put some new shoes on my ‘21 and I’m trying to wrap my head around the offset/back space calculations…I have read everything I can find and searched until I can no read! From what I can understand, I have stock off road rims with an offset of +60? It is also my understanding if I go with a rim with a lower offset(+25 or +18) the rim and tire itself will also be moved away from my suspension. I would like to put some Methods or SCS on with new tires. I do not wish to use spacers. I haven’t found much info on peeps with aftermarket rims and JBAs. I do have Toytec Aluma 2.5s set just over 2” as well. My question is who is running aftermarket rims and JBAs with no spacers? From what I have read on the JBA site, either one of those offsets(+25 or +18) still has too much back space. It seems to me, my stock rims at +60, have more back spacing than either the +25 or +18 rim. I also understand that my stockers are an 8” rim compared to an 8.5 or 9” rim, and that will also make a diff…
    Thanks for the therapy!

The picture above is of your current suspension? AFAIK, there aren’t any aftermarket UCA’s that will not clear a stock rim, except for perhaps long travel specific ones. Even then, I can’t think of any.

Typically, UCA’s don’t create clearance issues with wheels; overly wide tires *may* rub or be close to rubbing when using stock offset wheels (over 12.5” wide tires). The more aggressive offset of aftermarket wheels creates more space between the UCA and wider tires, whether that be aftermarket or OE UCA’s, as well as giving a more aggressive look. Too much offset (usually considered less than +18 or +12 offset) can create other clearance issues with mudflaps, body mounts, fender plastics, etc as they change the wheel arc when turning.

I see no reason why JBA’s would cause any issues with those aftermarket wheels, especially if you are already running them with OE wheels.

I am running JBA UCAs with Method 705 wheels which is a +25, no spacers. Moved everything away from my suspension. I have no regrets with the +25 offset. I am on 275/70r18 tires and have plenty of room with no rub.
