    I have 2011 5.7 XP. Went w/ son to test drive 2017 SR5.

1- the jump in the acceleration from dead stop is gone.
2- also, the great acceleration is gone. The Tundra now feels like his 2006 Silverado...sluggish.

    A- What have they done?
    B- Can a re-mapper get it back?

A little of this and a little of that.
You could always use the extra power button on the dash. Then the acceleration is actually really good.

And I always push the LSD button with it, just so my wheels don’t loose power and I can spin them, if I want.

Can you explain that a little more? I always turn TC off when Im messing around at the beach or something, but never messed with the Tow Haul.

Basically it doubles down the press of the pedal and holds gears longer. It helps when towing heavy or messing around. Press it you'll like it.

Explain what? The traction control button? Did you know that if you press it once for TC off but it’s still not true LSD so while stopped press and hold the TC button for 3 seconds and another level of TC will be available and you can even do it a 3rd time, (press and hold 2x).

    Does that make sense?

Just try it in haul ass mode lol you’ll get that pep back, Toyota intentionally made gas pedal less sensitive for reasons I can’t understand, maybe for mpg’s? Who knows but my first gen with the 4.7 feels more jumpy from a stop than my pro, also the 2nd gen I drove felt like it had more get up, its all programming, just color that button red and press it!

So basically just hit the tow haul button and turn off the TC for great amounts of fun???

I think it was because it was too damn sensitive while off-roading. Like riding a bucking bronco when it got bumpy.

This is exactly what Toyota did due to all the whining about a sensitive throttle response. Now we have whining about a sluggish throttle response. Can't win for losing.

Yeah, I had a 2011 also. I know what you mean. The tow button gets most of it back.

Tried this on my 17 CM after work today. Drove like a completely different truck. A lot more pep under acceleration. Don’t know if I’ll use that feature all the time, but great way to switch it up and have a little fun!

This is super sport mode. I call mine while in this mode “Blue Tundra” I feel like Frank Murphy in Blue Thunder.

Pardon the ignorance- what are Nannies?

In the TH mode, what effect is that on MPG?

Limited Slip, Traction and tow mode. Press and hold the limited slip and it will turn off the traction as well

My 17 feels very sensitive. Just driving around town I can barely touch the pedal. It actually took me awhile to get used to how sensitive it is.

The 4WD we drove was more like a 2005 Siverado-w/ 200,000 miles... Nothing close to my 2011 Tundra.

Agree with most people here. Turn off the TC, tow/haul on and your good to go.

Does it annoy anyone else in normal driving when the traction control kicks the truck loses all power? Example: Making a right hand turn and you think you have some space because you'll just gas it then you do and TC kicks in and then the guy behind is "waving" at you

Take it out of drive and sport shift in town or keep it on 5th gear in town. One of the 2. Big difference. Bully dog is bad ass
