Car lot near my office occasionally has some unique things on display.

Awhile back they had some monster (on a Kodiak chassis IIRC) that looked like a civilian version of an Armored Personnel Carrier, then yesterday I saw this thing sitting out there.

I must be getting old, 'cuz years ago I'da been like "Whoa, cool!" and now I'm thinking in practical terms like how it's too big to really off road, and all the functional and actually beneficial things you could do on a build with the money spent on this beast.

But whatever, not my money. It's unique and interesting I guess. (But kinda' silly IMO)

I think I saw an F-450 badge, dunno' any other specs.

I remember years ago in Kearny Mesa there was a place that would have lifted trucks out there on display.
Same, younger I thought they were really cool. That was back when Palm Ave was the place to wheel/ ride dirt bikes.

Holy crap, Palm Ave. You're going WAY back!!

This car lot just happens to be in Kearney Mesa, but it's only been open a couple of years.

Yeah, I’m old. Used to ride a 78 yz 80 there. Remember when 905 was 117? Good times. I used to wheel off telegraph canyon rd behind the community hospital, Honda hill where palomar ended. Jeez, I am old.

I sure do, grew up SW of the 5 and 905 before the 905 was ever there...

Dairy Mart and Monument area is where we always ran our dirt bikes if not Palomar.

Our driver is out sick today, so I fill in...

I just got back from taking a pallet of stuff to a freight forwarder off the 905... it's pretty built up down there now, and they keep building!

I haven't been in that area in quite a while, typically stay further in IB or Coronado when I visit but I'm sure it's changed a lot.

For reference, the red dot is where I grew up and went to Southwest High.

    That's cool!

So I used to go shooting out past South Bay Rod & Gun club in Dulzura, and my understanding is that you can continue past where we stopped to shoot, and take Otay Mountain Truck Trail all the way down and come out down in Otay Mesa.

Most of it is basically fire road and CBP patrol trails (at least what I saw from the Dulzura end) but there's some offshoots if you want some more challenging wheelin'.

One of these days I'll pack a pick-a-nick basket and go check it out.

    Anybody ever done it?

    Ford F450!

Just saw one last week. It was HUGE, never seen one of them driving around before. Owner is a welder that did some contract work for my work....Was brand new 4wd with big wheels and tires and a huge diesel. I can't even imagine what the beast cost. Way to big for off road but I bet it would tow a plane.

This one is a F550, but close. Not as expensive as you think. Though, stickers can lie about how much OTD.
