12 volt power at interior mirror?

Hi, I’m new to the forum and looking for information. I picked up a dash camera to mount on my windshield. Does anyone know if there is a key on power source in the above the windshield courtesy light and sunglasses holder?

Take a look at Dongar tech. There’s a 6pin behind the powered mirror to use as a power source, but won’t be full time.

 

Welcome to the forum..

There is both a BATTERY and ACCESSORY lead at the interior rear view mirror plug.
To prevent unauthorized use, I rewired my Homelight garage door opener to ACC instead of BATT.
Now it only works with the truck on.

As @pvn.beluga stated you can find a bypass adapters to use for your dash cam..
Just note how many pins are on your mirror connection..

On my 2014 the W1 is a 14 pin connector
Pin 1 sky blue wire is accessory
Pin 2 white with black stripe wire is ground
Pin 8 white wire is the battery

I got this adapter for my Viofo dash cam. It powers the camera up when the truck is started. Works perfectly.
